@emyu10 Thanks! I haven't heard of supabase before, will look it up.
-
@SidTheITGuy I thought you meant GraphQL the client/server API technology.
I can't commit to both because time constraints unfortunately. -
@SidTheITGuy Oh no, I believe there's been a misunderstanding. I'm migrating from an SQL based database to a graph based database, so graphql is not involved (unless this was a typo and you meant graphdb).
I can't have a graph db version of my server ready because I'd be maintaining two versions (the graph one and the sql one) and that sounds like a nightmare. 😂
I think I understand what you mean though so thanks for your input nonetheless!
Edit: unless by "be ready" you meant just knowing it then I'm there! I'm at the data migration stage and wondering if I should proceed or stop. -
@SidTheITGuy Thanks. So you think I should ditch graph? Currently SQL performs well (I fine tuned and set up indexes) my main concern is if it comes back if/when I'm growing.
-
@Alexanderr Can't afford to spend the time on rebuilding it a third time lol
-
I agree. I wasn't there when they set it up, but no one uses them and they have some arbitrary and stupid rules like "no fullstop at the end of the sentence".
-
I'm offended.
-
No.
-
That's sad. Sorry.
-
lmao was not expecting this.
-
@TrevorTheRat I think we need to differentiate between praise and giving credit.
If someone helps me with something or does something helpful (even if it's their job), I'd probably thank them and acknowledge it (publicly or privately, doesn't matter). I wouldn't consider that praise.
Edit: Yours might have been real praise, but I tend to take passing "thanks" as acknowledgement. -
@Hazarth Thanks for these two comments, they will come in handy in the future.
-
Inb4 you get flamed for using the devrant tag.

Don't forget the timeless classic:
"Our fastest and most advanced <product> yet!"
Well I sure would have hoped so, otherwise what are you doing? -
I had to go and read the post to see what this is all about.
I'm neither Indian nor American so I have no horse in the race, but the post does contain several bold claims and sweeping statements. Some negative that can easily qualify as stereotyping, or even racism. So I don't think the downvotes are uncalled for, or necessarily mean those who did them are snowflakes.
Edit: giving the benefit of the doubt here, you were probably refering to specific colleagues, but the statements sound like they apply to everyone. Or at least that's the impression I got. -
@AvatarOfKaine One of the worst UX I ever dealt with. It feels like Jira people went out of their way to make everything behave in the exact opposite of how you'd think it would.
-
@devphobe it doesn't have aws's logo, it's got my company's. The start url requires either the alias, or the app id + .awsapps.something ... i tried finding either, looked at all requests, responses, headers ... hoping to find ANYTHING but no, nothing. It must be done server side. I gave up.
-
@devphobe I read about aws's native sso support while exploring my options. Using the sso method requires knowledge of app specific ids and "start page" url, which my company would never give out. thanks though. what i have now is good enough.

@Oktokolo Ahh without a license then idk. It's worth getting one anyway, even for non crypto. But good luck to your friend.
-
The trick is to NOT submit any document that shows your real nationality and to always use a driver's license issued by the European country, it's a valid proof of ID.
It's the perfect middle ground. As far as the exchange is concerned, you're _probably_ European, and as far as the country is concerned you're not since they have other documentation.
Edit: I used this method twice. Most recently at crypto.com and approval was almost instantaneous. You don't want to get flagged for manual review. -
have you ruled out that a component or addon is causing this misbehaviour? I've been using vs for 5+ years, never had a single issue you describe.
-
TELL ME ABOUT IT.
- Your account has been limited now you can't do z, only x and y.
- me: why?
- Feel free to do x and y, but you can't do z.
- me: Yes but why?
- Because your account has been limited.
- ME: I KNOW YOU'VE REPEATED THAT TWICE ALREADY, WHY IS THE GODDAMN ACCOUNT LIMITED?? (with more foul language)
- Ticket is closed. Feel free to open another one. -
They're not wrong. Statistically speaking, it is both, the best and worst place to work.
Barring the insufficient sample size. -
The problem is most of these things require a screen, and you know what they say about screens before bed. Even when that dimmed yellow "night light" setting is enabled.
I will read up on meditation though, thanks. -
@champion01 @saas yeah it just never occurred to me that one would need to ask for the client's ip, since often, it is your own. but it makes sense if you're working _with_ vpn and the client isnt "yours."
-
I'm confused as to what a "vpn client ip" even is?
-
@Oktokolo it's been many years since I'd last been relaxed/not stressed.
-
Also adding to what @dan-pud said, if you accept a counter offer you may be marked as "that individual who tried/threatened to quit once" and might be made redundant once they're able to replace you.
-
Tbh should have ended it at:
Dev: Did you log out and log back in?
User: No, why would I do that?
Dev: Because I'm the dev and I said so. -
@Lensflare Ahhh okay it all makes sense now.
