Commenting code is a bad thing. Code should be readable without explanation, like as if you were reading a story.
If you write code that is not easily readable because of performance/whatever then you should comment it for others or yourself reading that code the next week -
@electrineer I guess. What I find way worse it that the äöü and shit are next to enter but all programming related keys (+{>#℅ are hidden as fuck and you have to do weird yoga to reach them
-
@neriald some weird layout optimized for the german language.
https://neo-layout.org/
It has the most commonly used german characters on the home row, and using shift lock (mod 2 as they call it) gives you all special characters for programming in logical blocks. In qwertz they are all over the place and it's horrendous to do the yoga to type them. They have a total of 6 layers for characters (depending on which mod keys you hold down): small, CAPITAL, programming)}<>, a numblock, and two layers of weard special characters I wont use anyways. -
What?
-
Pls elaborate
-
@Demolishun yes but why does it appear in my start menu as has a size of 350mb in the programs list then?
-
@fdrobidoux yeah fuck. Generating lots of commits can be done in 1 line of bash though
-
@irene it's on by default i think bht J don't like it as it always starts at col0 on the next line
-
@Codex404 but downloading candy crush after a fresh install shouldn't be a default setting.
-
I honestly don't really care as it is often not helpful at all.
-
Why would anyone care about the amount of commits someone makes? They should have a look at how the commits look like (whether they are of good quality)
-
I recently had to update visual studio to uninstall visual studio.

I hate those Dell keyboards

@Bubbles the 192.168.x.x IP address is common for local network addresses (within your own home network for example. You can only send messages to other local IPs on your network. Local addresses usually don't change as your router manages them). You also have a public ip address. That one is used for everything going outside your home. It usually doesn't change. Mine changed once in the past 10 years. But some friends of mine get a new one like every day.
Permissions: you want your user to login with their credentials and then assign and send them a key that they can use in further requests to authenticate. Then you know what user sent the request by their key and find out what permissions they have. -
I always do. I can't stand people not reacting the 80col rule. Having to scroll to the right only because a line has > 80cols sucks. It's annoying to read

What?

30€, 1.2mbit down, 0.1mbit up.

smpt?

Yes thats just one problem some backenders see. Front end devs usually try to make everything as beautiful as possible. Animations, transitions and other bullshittery. I personally find it annoying when my mouse clicks are delayed because some stupid asshole decided they want to animate it and then half of the screen turns left and something fades in from the right etc..
But who the fuck needs that? I want my software to work, not to look like a cartoon for 9yr old girls. If you want your software to look good I dont care. But don't get in my way with it. -
Fuck you. I don't want to run a few thousand lines of js just to view a webpage. Css rules!
-
@kacper3w c++ is as low level as c. And c is quite low level I guess.
-
@magicMirror it was a jOkE
-

If slack is a webapp you could try qutebrowser. It's designed for use with the keyboard. And has vim like shortcuts
-
@theKarlisK yeah I guess

I hate humans. Often.
