That feeling when you about to leave at work and ready for the long holiday, and suddenly there's a 🔥. You need to investigate and fix the issue. What a day!2

Friend of mine passed away several years ago. All other friends known me as Cooke monster so finally got my tattoo. He drew it for me before he died so it's quite personal! But nice to have something to remeber him for!18

Atom vs Visual Studio Code
What are you using and why?
I'm currently on Atom and wanna try out VSCode. Having looked at the settings (Holy fu**, are there many of 'em) I feel kind of lost.28 -

I have to share because I'm so confused at the moment. After troubleshooting for months trying to figure out why my laptop would randomly go into sleep mode, as I was typing. (Imagine my frustrations working on exam projects to have the screen just go black on me every 30 seconds.)
Today I found a post on the Dell forums by another person with the same problem. Apparently a magnetic closure on my bracelet triggered a sensor to think I had shut the lid on my laptop. What. The. Fuck. Guess that explains why it would only happen sometimes, as I don't wear this bracelet often 🙃🔫 definitely the funniest and weirdest problem I've ever had with a laptop.10 -
TLDR; I just screwed a production server and rendered it useless!!!
Long story:
I went to install a product that we built at the customer's site, and was given a Linux running server, to deploy our app.
I work in windows, and barely know the basic Linux commands.
So I look at the files in the home directory, and see that the are a lot of files, so I ask the customer if it is ok that I move all the files to a separate directory.
He agrees, and me thinking that I am smart, proceed to enter the following commands in the terminal:
mkdir old
mv /* old
Of course I got an error that I don't have permission so my next command was:
sudo mv /* old
And that was the end of that computer.
The amazing part of the story is that as soon as it happened, I understood so much about Linux.
The file structure, sudo, the power of the terminal, aliases and so much more...15 -
Is there any open source project on indexing lecture videos on YouTube based on it's content?. That is the video will be indexed like a book so that the use can navigate to that particular topic in that video.1

So... I got this “Bitshift Variations in C Minor” code golf to work on a Mac if anyone is interested: http://txti.es/bitshiftvariationsin...
Here is the original, which probably works on Linux: http://txti.es/bitshiftvariationsin... -
Different rants with opposite context.

I love arriving at work to see in a mail that a co-worker is literally saying "please test things before delivering it"
Like I did it, it worked, and most importantly, it's their part of the code that had a problem.
Fuck off, learn how to communicate without reproaching stuff you should have done before1
