My opinion? I’d drop Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator and go with Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo. No monthly or annual fee bullshit, reasonably priced (although their store model is a bit much…).

It also looks like the octopus of the design world known as Adobe hasn’t leeched the life out Figma into some broken Adobe XD Online… yet, so you could probably get varied mileage out of that for free for high fidelity site mocking type workflows.

Also, for icons: The Noun Project. Still is pretty decent, where you do have to pay it’s reasonable. Solid icon repository.

@azuredivay problem right now is balancing battery life, portability, performance and price. I think the market is near a shift where it can achieve all four at a luxury price tag in a year or so. The Surface Studio nailed it minus portability. Surface Book 2 and MacBook Pro 2016 kind of get it, Waiting to see the Surface Pro 5. Thing holding Microsoft back is screen size options for Surface Book. 15 inches is the sweet spot. I have heard the battery life was solid.

I should of stated my context a bit further, I'm looking for something that matches the feel of the MBP 2013+ that can also playa game like Overwatch at relatively high quality and power 4K monitors. Needs expandability with GPU docks so I can milk 5-6 years out of a $4,000 investment. Hell, a man can dream.

I did look at Razor Blade Pro but it's battery life is horrendous let alone its portability is in question. It is a beautiful piece of hardware regardless. Razer is what Asus was 5-6 years ago.

Originally went to college for Graphic and Web Design. Right near graduation, at a conference, spend two hours having passionate conversation with seasoned full stack developer who showed up. Aspiring art directors looking blank in the face over topics. Had a "fuck these plebs" life moment. Day I decided I would become a developer.

Imposter Syndrome is heavy in developers. Knew a 12yr programmer who still had that aura of humility. I think it's mainly because we work in an industry where at any moment our understanding can fall behind if we aren't on top of our small number of specializations.
