@FinlayDaG33k it’s actually a subscription. The monthly payments are pretty high and the cancellation policy is outrageous. It’s really important to read the terms of service before subscribing. Although, the terms are frequently updated, and like everything else, if you don’t accept them, then you don’t get to enjoy the benefits.

Between npm and nuget, I don’t even want to think about how much time I’ve spent removing external libraries and generated code files from source and then needing to fix build references. 🙄
-
Clippy FTW!
-
I love how the conversation immediately turns into a discussion about faking messaging content vs. the actual content of the post. Developers are a different breed indeed. 😁
-
I’m living this same type of Hell with a couple legacy websites I have to maintain. Finally convinced the higher ups it would be much more cost effective to build something new the correct way vs. try to fix the existing pile of garbage.
-
@D--M is correct. 1.2 is required for PCI. I work for a company that goes through yearly PCI audits and am so thankful I don’t have to support IE 10 or below!
-
@nik123 I’m sure you’re right. Chopper Commando was one of my favorites.
-
My first computer ran Windows 3.11. Had so much fun playing 8-bit games on that thing. 😁
-
Pssh, I ONLY code using a mouse. Real devs don’t use keyboards.

Played way to much FF VII and FF VIII back in the day. Sometimes I listen to the soundtracks on YouTube when I code. Also love all Sonic the Hedgehog music from the Sega Genesis games.
-
I’d go with Dolphin Trainer.
-
@GhostFish aren’t our entire lives just an endless series of if/else statements?
-
Just no... 😑
-
@AptFox it's a P50. It has solid internals, but the packaging is garbage.
-
@H4u60r3, yeah I get that and think it's a cool idea as long as the # of followers is kept private. Last thing we need is devs posting "sponsored content" because a lot of people are following them.
-
300s all around! 😁
-
@AngryDev - Agreed. Worst thing that could happen would be for "follower count" to be added to your profile. I love devRant in part because it doesn't have the bullshit that facebutt and twittershit have.
-
One registers for an account and signs up for a service (just my two cents).
-
At that point wouldn't it just be user testing? 😁
-
@hisetip it's a work computer. Don't have anything against Lenovo, but I've never liked the Thinkpad line. They're unbearable to use as a laptop. I basically treat mine as a portable desktop and make sure I've got monitors with external keyboard and mouse. They're heavy, bulky and the trackpad is virtually unusable.
For context, I have MacBook Pro 15" for my personal computer. -
Normally I say to each their own... but this is just wrong.
-
I love that last sentence "Use some common sense man." 😂
-
This is going to be me in 5 months.
-
No one even knows who hired him. He just showed up and started playing.

root password is food... it's always food
-
@Jase - it's this weird site where people who don't really know each other post content that no one really cares about.
-
@mephist0 - True. VS Code is also dark by default. Seems like they're making progress on this front.
-
I don't understand why light theme is still default on anything for developers.
