Only a tech guy can understand the awesomeness behind this...
Absolutely loved it... -
I don't know whether to laugh or cry...
Seriously, sometimes, I can't believe such idiots are able to get degrees from colleges.. -
@DeveloperACE It hurts to say that this is, more often, the truth...
-
In Ross Geller's words, your answer lies in the 'Big Book of Children's Names'...
But, seriously, in my opinion, to avoid traumatizing your kid for eternity, leave this task in the hand of your spouse...
That's what my father did... Left it in the hands of my mother since his 23 suggestions were discarded by her... -
@jkrzefski Okay... Thanks for clearing it up...
-
@jkrzefski So, what you are trying to convey here is to continuously try to solve problems on my own...
And, if I am stuck, then I might some time with it, but if I still find myself clueless regarding the situation or fundamental principles of the problem, then I should mark it in 'red'...
Discuss my problem with my peers or teachers, or ask people in the forum.. But, in the meantime, I should move on to the next problem...
And, in the free time, should check for alternatives for the 'red marked' question..
Just like we practice Maths...
Is this what you are suggesting or am I perceiving it wrong... -
@code-god Will definitely check it out...
-
@Awlex I'll keep your advice about 'deviants' in mind, while posting my future rants...
I do know about Deviant.. In fact, my sister is a frequent user...
I also tend to do the same... Stare at the code, trying to make sense.. Most times, it does the trick but sometimes, the manner in which a solution is derived or the main logic behind it confuses me... And, I am unable to connect the implementation with anything I know.. -
@OfficerHalf Thank you for this useful advice... Will definitely comeback to you once I have tried it...
I do this method, but mainly for learning new languages or checking out new libraries, etc... -
That's why, I always give my home address... Much safer...
-
@alybadawy 😂😂😂 Used it on one of my professors on why I couldn't add a set of features on a project and submit the next day....
And, surprisingly, it worked... -
@alybadawy Why, the 'food' one didn't work??
-
@dfox This is indeed a great feature.. And, I am sure that it will help make DevRant even more awesome...
It's good to know that the people behind this app is directly having a conversation with their users... -
@SamGodDamn Same here..
-
@lig1 Isn't that true for everyone??
What I gather from your statement, in retrospect, is that you wish to say that instead of switching from one language to another...
We should instead spend time with it and get comfortable with developing in them...
If it's indeed your advice, then, it's a good one...
Otherwise, correct me... -
Congrats, mate...
-
Salute to Margaret Hamilton...
In today's time, we can't even bear to use C/C++... And, this lady has written code which could make space travel a reality... And, that too in Assembly...
Respect, indeed.... 🙏🙏 -
I can see Entities but where are the Relationships??
-
@lig1 I definitely agree with you on the fact that we should always be open to new avenues or languages...
Every language is created keeping a specific thing in mind..
And, even though, I am not a big time user of PHP.. But, still it is a valuable language to learn..
But, I found your first statement a little bit offensive... -
In my readable code is more important (until working on a time critical situation/ software) since most software end up being the responsibility of someone else...
But, in the above case, the shorter one looks better, but probably, even works better.. (not sure, ask me in the morning since I am nearly been awake for more than 20 hours and my brain might soon go into hibernation)...
In my opinion, to make it readable, we should place the condition into another Boolean variable...
Like someone else suggested on this rant... Let me look at... For a moment... Already told you the reason for my clumsiness..
Yeah, like @pmarius suggested... -
@cattoaster Never really tried Solarized Dark... But, good to know that we are on the same side: the Dark Side...
-
Both Ubuntu and Linux Mint are great places to start their journey on Linux..
Personally, Ubuntu was the gate through which I entered the wonderful world of Linux... -
Can't decide on who to support... So, upvoting both the stances..
See.. Problem solved.. -
But, learning to trust and depend on others are also very key attributes on becoming a good developer and progressing in your career...
Otherwise, you will always find yourself stuck... -
@jakobev I guess, this is the one that everyone can get behind...
-
Okay.. I thought I was the crazy one.. But, your friend definitely takes the cake...
Seriously never thought I'll hear of someone who codes in the shower using his phone..
Never felt comfortable coding on my phone... It just doesn't feel right... -
@saifat29 Little bit more colourful and a little bit more vibrant...
But, frankly, I love the DevRant's dark theme.. And, I wouldn't change it in the world, not even for 'Monokai'... -
Man... I feel so happy... Finally, I have found a place where I am no longer an outcast...
Where were all of you hiding all my life??
I guess, I belong to the corner case... But, don't worry, I guess, I will be entering this club soon, considering my utter sleeplessness during night...
My mother still doesn't understand that coding at night, helps me have a good night's sleep or in my case, good day's sleep.. -
😂😂😂😂😂
-
@saifat29 Definitely agreed...
While I don't have issues with Dracula and I am okay with it.. And, by 'okay', I mean that I will not change it to Monokai..
Even though, I like Monokai better.. For me, Monokai was my first love and hence, will always hold a special place in my heart...
Sorry for becoming a little bit poetic.. But, what can I say, Monokai just makes my heart sings...
Damn you, Lord Byron.. (Was reading 'She Walks In Beauty, about half an hour ago... Blame him, not me..)
