I've been an Android developer for almost 2 years and this rant scares me to ever go to a hackathon. How did this guy know about Android?

@pentatonicfunk I'm the sole Android dev at the company. I'm responsible for building the Android version of our iOS app. So code base is mostly mine.

@Ezard thanks that's what I figured, but I'm having some trouble trying to find out how to do that in code. This is my first time handling custom drawables and the canvas. The docs aren't super clear and there aren't many tutorials out there.

@Kimmax ok well I don't have enough rep to embed a picture. Also I stated what I need it for. Here's what I said, "I am creating a custom fragment that will serve as a custom navigation drawer that slides from the bottom." If you don't understand what I mean just be quiet and don't comment. People like you are the reason I don't ask questions on SO.

@simpleJack yeah but if I didn't take that leap of faith I wouldn't have experienced the blessings I did. I definitely had the option of doing it the gradual, calculated, and self-reliant way, but I wouldn't have learned as much as I did and I'd probably still be stuck being a school teacher.

I need a T-shirt that says "No I'm not a computer technician". Also printers are were created by Satan himself to destroy trees and people's hopes and dreams of having a productive work day.

Me every time I have to refactor my code or implement something new. I almost die from the suspense and then I scream with joy when it works after crashing the last 15 times.

@DiabetiMark I'm kinda new to Android still and I'm working on a project for my Udacity course. Can't get the data from my content provider to display in main activities recyclerView

@Cybersapien I completed the free Basic courses all ready. Now I'm working on the Android Developer Nanodegree.

@Cybersapien I'll have to check that out. I actually used Realm and I liked it, but I'm doing a project on Udacity and they rejected my app because I used Realm instead of Sqlite. Now I have to refactor and it's such a pain

@Cyanite SO is a must for programming but I feel like you must be a CS pro to ask or answer questions. About 9 months ago when I first started getting into Android development I went on there thinking it was a noob friendly place where I could just ask questions. Nope! My post received like a -4 rating and I got no answers for my question. Just a couple vague comments. Now I just feel like some type of code voyeur.

@corscheid yeah it's so powerful, almost too many features. I also recently stumbled across the version control features integrated. You can commit and push without every leaving the program. Awesome.
