Sure, I learned a bunch in school, but you don't really start learning until the first shit storm happens on the job. Then you realize how much you still don't know!2

Assume other people know what they are doing. Since I don't know what I'm doing, why would they know what they are doing?

I am removing all my personal items from work so if I suddenly quit I can walk out and never have to come back. All thanks to a micromanaging maniac of a manager and his lackluster lackeys of lameville.
Fuuuuck youuuuu huuuuge. I curse you cunts with everlasting indigestion followed by bouts of vicious volcanic diarrhea.8 -
Best: Built an awesome web app and received much.
Worst: For some reason Christmas brings out the worst in boss. Possibly Krampus in disguise. Will investigate further. -
The new guy ran into traffic one day instead of using the crosswalk with the rest of us. There were several pirouettes involved and luckily the cars slammed the brakes in time. To this day we still have no idea why he did it.
There are many stories about him doing strange things but this was the most memorable by far. -
Wouldn't call it a feature. More like worst practice. Data manager (and my boss at the time) kept using our website as a way to host large files 3rd party vendors/partners could download instead of using one of the many secure transfer methods out there to send them data. This was sometimes extremely sensitive data. No authentication or security that I could find. I went ballistic on him after seeing that.

Being told the "solution" to a technical problem by a non technical person from a meeting I wasn't even invited to participate in. This middle finger goes out to middle management everywhere.

Lately it's been DevRant. Honestly. I sometimes lose the drive to learn. Then see newer tech people are using on here and it reinvigorates me. So DevRant.1

I am in programmer hell today.
Oh great programmers of the universe, lend me your strength so that I do not leave work a shattered soul on this day!5 -
Legitimately lost an old very terrible project. But I didn't have to deal with it anymore so it was ok. Just called it no longer maintainable. I was so convinced it was gone that when I found it 6 years later I finally realized "losing" the project was my mind just protecting itself from insanity.

A couple of friends were trying to convince me that I'm not satisfied with my job because I don't earn 6 figures and don't love it. But it pays the bills. It's interesting projects lately. Very low stress. I have pretty good friends where I'm at. Super casual too. Generally speaking I am happy here. I sometimes wonder if they might be projecting their unhappiness on to me.
Personal projects, sports and fun with friends/family in my spare time are my real passions.1 -
Passive aggressive coworkers that have problems with each others work but instead of working out problems together they just complain about each other to me and try to drag me into it. What makes people think I want to play office politic games with them? I'm just there to code!1

Programming just makes me want to eat tasty food. You taste so good but make me look more like Jabba than Han. Fucking love/hate food.

I recently built a staff portal. Sometimes when people ask what I did this summer I just say "I built a portal" without any additional info just to let them think I'm Doc Brown crazy.

My scrum team was discussing about how our workspaces are basically the size of a large coffin. Our scrum master then chimed in to try to calm everyone down and said they are much larger. Closer to the dimensions of a prison cell he says.2
