Couldn't you just use the plugins for each language (so intellij ultimate + php / python / db plugins) ? Then you'd have at least part of a universal IDE and not a separate IDE for each language.
It's also cheaper which is mainly why I went for that -
This should be interesting...📌

@commodore I would say xcode but I've not used it enough to really judge it. I do know it's a pain to use though, at least for me.
At least it doesn't use 1.5 gb a minute after being launched. -
@sudo-rm-rf it should but some databases throw an error by default when executing a delete statement without where clause, as a safety measure I suppose.
-
It's kinda curious, I use intellij and my colleagues eclipse. I get annoyed every time I see them search something and it taking 10s of seconds, I definetly can't work like that.
But both have a bit of a memory problem because java :/ -
I'm at 1266, most of it is for work though.
-
Had something similar happen, first day of my internship someone jumped in front of my train and I was stuck on it for 2 hours
-
Yes please, I hate how some of my coworkers refuse to use proper tools, and as a result they commit typos and syntax errors that an IDE would've easily caught
-
@AL1L intellij isnt much better though, regularly uses 4 gb for me but I don't really care, it's so much better than any other ide I've tried so totally worth it
-
I like using the "close all tabs to the right" feature of chrome for this
-
The only reason I'm using an expensive mac instead of a high end Linux desktop is because I need to be able to develop ios apps. Fuck Apple and their exclusive ecosystem.
-
@Fenix on chrome it's called wappalyzer, not sure about Firefox
-
Hell no, I have tried it once and it was a terrible experience. Kinda sad knowing how it costs more than my gaming pc...
-
The only reason my work pc is a MacBook is because you have to have one to create iOS apps, else I would have gotten a desktop with better specs for probably half the price
-
I've had more luck using an emulator instead of a real device, maybe you could try that. Instant run fails a lot more often on real devices for me.
