Because the function is an override method, the parent class could delete a group, which is overridden in this subclass because it is now allowed for this type. Not best practice, but could work right?

I really think the entry-level of most languages is fine. But once you know how to write in that language/framework and you want to get better at it, it feels like you already need to know what to search for to go deeper into something.

I can't really find good guides that say: ok after learner the basics of X, look at these design patterns, architecture concepts... to write better code than the basic guides.

Devide it up into small tasks, checking off multiple tasks in a short time feels like progress and keeps me motivated to work on bigger projects.

I don't know if you have updated the app in the meantime. But I sometimes delete apps I totally forgot about / don't use anymore after I see an update for them.

for example: use '==' or '===' instead of in_array for 1 element or not use a switch case where the only case not mentioned is the only value it could possibly be.

They made it so you can no longer transfer pokémon to this game that are not found in this region. So, there is no national dex and you can never catch'em all. Everyone has a favorite pokémon and only a few hundred get to see theirs in these games.
