When I told that to my parents they told me "If police ever come to our door, you have time until they get to your room, we won't try to stop them. But we'll bring food to prison."

For me it doesn't go like this. You're not more of a dev if you use a dark theme.
I personally just feel the need for a dark theme, the white burns my eyes and after a while I can barely read the text.
I don'r use dark theme to look cool, I really need it.
But I guess a lot of people use it just to look cool.
If any of u know a goo dark theme for sql management studio, that shit is pure white. -
It's a shame discord is targeted at gamers. If I'll ever start a company and it succeds, I'll make it mandatory for whoever wants to work with me to contact me via discord and not skype, it's so stable and runs so smooth. I die a bit inside whenever someone invites me to join their skype conference and they all refuse discord because "We've always used skype and we don't need something else."

At a contest I met a team named "SegFault Tamers". Makes sense only if you work with C.
-
@redstonetehnik I thought it was going to be the "sudo make me a sandwich" one. I'm glad I was wrong.
-
@antons Let me tell you a story.
Antelopes move at the pace of the slowest one in the herd. When a lion attacks, it targets the slowest antelope. So a lion actually helps the herd move faster and avoid future dangers.
Brain cells work like a herd of antelope, at the pace of the slowest one. Alchool kills the weaker and slowest first. So alchool allows your brain to function faster.
Joke aside, I don't think things work as stated above. If you drink too much too often you're not going to last long. But getting drunk once in a while, or drinking some wine once in a while will actually do you more good. -
Good guy @configurator
-
@karakamen don't waste your time. Downvote him to oblivion and forget his existence.
-
Did you a receive a medal for your courage?
-
Idk, I haven't coded anything lately. Enjoying summer holiday. Might be the last one without a job.
-
I compiled every homework with -Wall -Wextra and the one that makes all warnings show as errors (-Werror I think).
-
@Akio good luck. Hope you won't have any rant to post.
-
@Akio I've never been employed. But is that for real? Some bosses really ask you for a certain amount of lines? How is this amount decided? And why is there such a limit? Isn't short code bette, as long as it's readable of course. I have so many questions...
I can understand the need for an upper limit. But not the other way around. -
@pertroo Do when do you guys take a break? Don't you have a big holiday every year? Like a 2-3 months lomg holiday. Here in Romania everyone (schools, unubersities) has all summer free.
-
Dude, it's summer, what school???
-
Please tell us i gets modified in those cases.
And even then I think there are much better solutions. -
@bioDan wow, very well said. I'm saving this for when I need inspiration
@Gaetano96 sometime's I wonder if I was lucky with my teachers or people just tend to remember only the bad. I met bad teachers, the kind that made you afraid of attending the class, or those too bored of their life to teach you anything, hell I had a math teacher in HS that was asking us to tell jokes most of his classes, and he wouldn't teach us a single thing (we went to the chief / dean / whatever position the head of school has) and that teacher dropped our class the next semester. But I also encountered so many great teachers, especially in uni. Passionate people, lovely people that saw us, their students, as their children. And also in HS, we had this literature teacher (we learned about our country's greatest writers and their work, impirtant subject, like english, but different language). She was sick, cancer or something, very very bad condition, she was teaching us with such passion despite her disease. -
@Autism420 My dad, who did little programming in high school (it's not his job either), always told me I need math if I want to be a good programmer. I never really took him seriously, but I gave some credit to his words just because I know he always gives me good advice. Now in uni I really start to understand what he meant and I'm so thankful and glad I listened to him.

@DarKneT Someone once told me "Brazil had a goalkeeper and still lost 7-1 to Germany."
-
Watching for that link to the question.
-
@configurator 90% actually.
@NavCon Computer Science, first year we had a lot of math. First semester was algebra and calculus, second was a bit calculus or analysis (hope I spelled it right and that is the right name) and statistical math. And the math in the second semester was 1 class divided in those 2 categories. It was a lot of information for 1 semester, but the teacher was amazing and we left with some really good knowledge. -
@localghost Oh god, I had a class on this kind of math last semester. I passed with a good mark (9/10), but I don't understand what you said completely. Maybe I should read the courses again.
-
You should try 7-zip for decompression of almost anything (I think).
-
@dontPanic it would be written next to it.
-
I've been there last night too.
-
Yes, that camcer. I couldn't get it to work with wine. It crashes on login screen. And I also need windows for any contest where we must write c# and .net core is not enough.
-
@heyheni I just used one last night to reinstall windows. It felt wrong not usig a stick.
-
Happy birthday. May no server crash in honor of your day.
-
@qbasic16 underrated
