Obviously Both! 😉

I hear they teach that in business schools, now.

there's a way you can flip the desktop upside down on windows. my college roommate wasn't too happy about that, haha.

Brackets for when I'm doing personal Web Development projects.
Android Studio for Android dev (obviously)
Eclipse for Java projects
Vim for files accessed through the command line
Atom for anything else I may do. -
Did you pass the inspection?

@dylsteck you're absolutely right. it wouldn't make much sense for either company. But, as you said, it would make developers' lives easier. And that's what most important, right? 😆
-
@dylsteck Yeah... I'm just imagining being able to develop apps for iOS and Android in the same language. Haha, someone pinch me.
-
@dylsteck it would definitely take a huge effort to make a switch to a new primary language. If they do decide to go that route, then I think the question becomes, like you said, do you make your own language or find a popular/trending open source language. There are pros and cons to both. They could also keep Java, but switch to OpenJDK and kiss Oracle goodbye. I'm very interested to see what they do with Android in the coming years.
-
Think Google eventually switches Android to a different language like Swift?

Life becomes easier if you simply embrace the dark side. You can't fight it forever.

All you need is a clever way to use bread to illustrate a programming concept, and you're golden.

Tabs. Pressing space so much drives me nuts.

My Windows 10 Desktop boots in 5 seconds or less. Gotta love SSDs.

This might be the single greatest thing I've ever seen.

I was introduced to AWK in a Computer Security course I took in college. It stands out (in a good way), and is almost always brought up when I interview.

I've had my DAS keynoard for close to a month now. It has Cherry Blue switches, and I am really happy with it. It's my first mechanical keyboard, so I can't directly compare it to other mechanical keyboards. I've noticed my typing speed has increased since using it. Hope you enjoy yours when it arrives!

My Grandfather was a COBOL programmer for many years. He is part of the reason I became a developer.

I find that classical helps me get in the zone more consistently than other genres. But regardless of what the genre is, I listen to songs with no lyrics. Fur Elise is currently my preference.
