Lol, y-m-d only! How else are you gonna sort em?

What @ScriptCoded said, but to add on that - don't feel the pressure and focus on looking for the friends specifically (unless you really feel lonely and you think you should but i understand that's not the case). It usually happens organically with the people in your environment. And a workplace is a good space for that. Some of my best friends are people i met at work
-
I rearrange bits on some machine in Ohio that doesn't even really exist so that my company can ship poor quality shit from China to US
-
@electrineer right, as a spoiled EU brat i forgot about such problems. Anyway if the company offers relocation package it will likely include visa sponsorship
-
Pretty much the same way as locally these days. If you want to work remotely you might need to start a business and do B2B as many companies won't offer employment contracts abroad. And if you want to relocate look for companies that offer a relocation package. LinkedIn and glassdoor are your friends here

There is no point either way. Unless you're a humanitarian relief worker or i dunno a fucking heart surgeon, the thing you spend 8 hours a day on has zero meaning except for making someone at the top of the ladder rich. It's funny how we only realize that in face of mass violence and suffering. Anyway, the meaninglessness is liberating. Once you accept it you can make up your own rules to life and make your own meaning
-
@ScriptCoded ah man, from my exp you only do more harm this way. probably fine if you're temporarily out-of-sync with your schedule but it always messes me up even more in a long run
-
damn, at least it sounds pretty regular. for me it can be 1-11 one day, 5-8 the second and none at all the third ;(

Define "clean code" :>

Just sops 'em

A nice side of those shit posts is the comments section ❤️

How about getting marked for PR reviews in tech stack you don't know, because everyone is on vacay? And then obviously being scolded for holding up the process while you try to understand angular in one day 😈
-
@MadMadMadMrMim After 8 years into the career I'm slowly getting a hold of those :D covid made it a struggle tho
-
1. We don't come here to work on your shitty code. We come here to get rest from it and complain about the dev life. You're disturbing everyone's work/life balance. And gods know it is already shaky
2. If you can't find correct sources to solve your code issues - you might want to reconsider your career choices -
@-red well, it's us who made it like this. Humans are the virus. There are nice places still left there though. Someone recommended me https://www.gentlydownthe.stream/ recently 😍

I just feel bad for the poor regExp3 that disappeared in mysterious circumstances
-
@Lensflare well, 7 months of actual work. They got surprised by winter, took 3mo break and finished just recently 🙃

Everything was vibrating

Yeah, caffeine is already out since a couple of weeks. Alcohol too, it makes me anxious and depressed the next day. Or a week if I go hard. The only thing that doesn't make me loose my shit is weed but the country I live in is a total dick about it. I just wish the covid bullshit ends soon. Getting first jab in two weeks 💪
-
I feel so fucking powerless
-
My strategy is - want it super hard and wait for them to approach you. Not that efficient during covid
-
For work - mac os. It's fool-proof. In my experience it's the environment you need to fight the least to get shit done.
At home - a minimal Debian setup with Awesome WM for fooling around -
Quick MDN check - no it doesn't. Putting an H1 implicitly closes the P tag and the rest of your content is just left there, floating in space https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US...
-
Not really. My dreams make me scared shitless of falling asleep
-
YES! It hurts but it feels so good

Rice? Soy? Almond?

@devnulli well this comment deserves a rant of its own, but I don't have enough SAP experience to dare :D
