Lol this is actually funny
It was a promotion that involved doing more work but didn't involve me getting a change in title or pay
Thing is tho... The promotion was caused due to developers leaving left right and center and I left shortly after as well...so I guess it makes sense that they maybe saw that I was planning to leave *shrugs*1 -
Really hate the dumb feelin I have getting used to new frameworks/languages or whatever....but on the other side is a smarter me... PUSH THROUGH DUMB DUMB!!1

How comes companies don't give a shit abt onboarding?! The better your onboarding processes the faster the people you hired become productive?? Should never take me three weeks jus to get access...and when I do it's a problem ...should be seamless
At least that's what makes sense to me2 -
So just got hired to a job... But it seems like more of the same from my old job... Have an interview 2moro... Decisions decisions2

If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything.
No one said that standing for something can have u feeling so conflicted.
Currently 'striking' because I haven't been paid for the month of January. Haven't been to work and haven't done any work (except support requests from a client we work with)
I have recently been pretty adamant about my conditions at work but I do feel a little unreasonable as the reason they can't seem to pay me seems to be some issue with the bank. However on the other hand I do not appreciate that I have not been contacted or informed about how the situation is being dealt with since Monday.
Am I being unreasonable?? Or have I been in a bad situation for so long that it seems wrong to call it out??3 -
If there are any older devs on here, (pre StackOverflow) what did debugging look like back then? Rifling thru language manuals?? Diving into source code ??
I'm super curious9 -
So sick of my pessimistic, paranoid supervisor. She's always accusing everyone of being spies and has opinions on everyone.... Complains abt management and everything under the sun.... But when management comes in the room... Quiet as a mouse, because in her words ,'I don't wanna fix anything'
THEN WHY THE FUCK ARE U COMPLAINING!?!?
U clearly see nothing wrong and that's why u don't wanna change it
Fucking hate people who endlessly complain1 -
So first, I haven't finished my CS degree
Currently working in CS position ( didn't lie... degree was pending told them as such, still hired me)
Currently getting offers from other companies.... Kinda want to transition but scared to get turned away for lack of degree.
Basically completed portion of degree, but have grown disinterested in completing ....
What do you guys think? Still finish?? Or use my current experience to move forward??3 -
Everytime you resolve a KISS issue.... You say to yourself ," I'll definitely learn from this "
2 seconds later: digging another rabbit hole for a KISS problem -
How does one get better at responding to issues that occur in production?? I feel the only way I learn is by having the issue occur and then fixing it...any more proactive ways available??3
