The “dark web” is so last decade.
I am more into the Twenty Shades of Gray web. -
Good to hear man. These are the years that will shape your future. Learn as much now, good and bad, and you will be that much ahead.
It’s the stupid stuff they don’t teach in the classroom or at the university that will impact your momentum and growth with advancement. You need to diff that sweet-spot between introvert and office dumbass.
The other thing I see more and more is people, mainly young men, make the mistake of confusing the legalization revolution of marijuana use and the office place being a pulpit from which to express their pride. Since when has it become acceptable to tell your superior about the awesome gummy’s you had last weekend? All well and good, but I know people who have been passed up for literally wearing their marijuana use on your sleeve. Don’t trust anyone with stuff like this, no matter how close you get. -
@specialCardinal It’s going to be tough cause you are young and not wise to the ways of the world yet. You need the experience to learn what’s up.
In need of gaining experience, I encourage you to further a romantic relationship with your female co-workers. About 10%, you will find love. About 20% you find yourself in bed with them. About 50% it will not work out and it becoming extremely awkward, resulting in you being the problem or the bad person in the end. About 30% chance you will get assigned as the sex-offender of the office, either being asked to leave or want to get the hell out. See guys like you all the time, and they say the same things. Lol
About ten years from now, you find the value in the separation of personal and work life. Especially if you move up. Good luck. -
That’s a “new” concept a lot of large companies, and small start-ups are adopting. I think Google started it. As fun as it may sound, I feel for those who are allergic to cats, and the smell is pretty bad at times. No work gets done cause everyone is attending to their pets. Pets get loose. Pets have fought. Ours was canceled earlier this year after a co-worker got bite by a Yorkie.
-
Good to hear.
Hopefully they don’t have “Bring your fluffy pet to work Fridays”. Uggg! -
Lol, I thought Python PIP also.
Nerd clickbait I tell you. -
@Pyjong Plus having “Past three years of 100% Ubuntu Desktop experience” isn’t the most attractive thing to have on your resume.
It’s like that Sponge Bob episode where he learns how to drive blindfolded. Takes blindfold off, doesn’t know how to drive. First day at work using Windows after a three year hiatus. -
I tried to replicate Captain Kirk from Star Trek. Not possible at this level just yet.
-
IT: Information Technology: The study or use of systems (especially computers and telecommunications) for storing, retrieving, and sending information.
The installation and repair of printers and copiers would fall under the definition. -
Sorry, I don’t know all your project’s details but have you looked into:
npm prune
Or maybe or on top of:
npm outdated
Maybe research npm shrinkwrap. It helps sync what you want in node_modules through the package.json.
With 21,000 it sounds you are running defaults for npm install and node_modules. How many packages are in the package.json? -
Yeah, fundamentals have to be adhered to before you can consider anything reasonably good. I couldn't even view it at first because you didn't install an SSL and redirect to https.

I know this is possibly an example of all your talents balled into one masterpiece. Dialing it down will be the first area you want to focus on.
A lot of Tween going on for sure. Too much flash. Looks spammy. Couldn't get an idea of what anything was about.
If you want the best website example to gain inspiration from:

Clear text, no dramatic anything, especially shadows. Shadowed text is beneficial as long as it is done correctly. You overshadowed the shadow.

He hires out web developers to do everything and probably didn't even write the article, but it's still useful info for someone just starting. -
@cst1992 Ah, it was a rant anyways.
I have no clue why I keep referring to it as Workspace. Even told myself not before my post. Lol
I used Echelons because there are many titles above that encompass the group involved as a whole. Didn’t want to use the specific title for that group we use internally. -
@Wesley To me, that’s the milk and honey client you are describing. It’s a pretty common request. I am not sure what the problem is?
There has to be more to this than you have described. If not, just set them up with what they requested and charge accordingly. If they need more than that, charge accordingly. -
Like previously stated, antivirus is precautionary protection that is designed for users who know no better. It also helps those who do know better when something new comes about or you make a mistake.
-
@netikras That’s whole other aspect which I did not cover. Yes, employee details are shared for SSO but very minimal. Assigned number and email.
The content is hosted on Facebook’s servers hence why each post must be moderated by trained, but small team. Replies are allowed without moderation which, once again, is a whole other story. -
Sorry, post over five minutes old. Cannot edit. I put Workspace but meant Workplace. Sorry.
-
@netikras No, it’s ‘I’ as in: The proof review before submitting my post should have been more thorough. ;)

Remembered it:
Q: Quesadilla
Another one I had to stop using:
C: Chaos -
I have one related to Q that I would find myself having to explain all the time but I forgot what it was because I stopped using it a couple years ago.
Lately, I have run into people using key phrases for some god awful reason.
A: Alpha Male
B: Brad Pitt
J: Jennifer Aniston
S: Sydney Poitier
T: Tequila Sunrise
and so on. -
As the voice of default, where else should it be saved?

Maybe just a really passionate supporter of transitioning everything to the OneDrive?
Them darn Microsoft/Windows devs and following requirements and standard practices. -
Funny how you make yourself think Internet Explorer, as a project and a proprietary browser, is dead in the water. I mean, who could still be possibly using it this day and age? I learned it’s a good idea to keep IR activated for disaster purposes, but going on close to 10 years since I purposely used IE for anything.
Then you come across a 2019 survey that has some ridiculous statistic of how much of the earth’s population still actually uses IE daily because it’s the out-of-the-box browser with Windows. Crazy!
Without CSS, the online world would be a very dull place with only a white background and a singular black default font. CSS is what it is, but once you wrap your head around it, along with Google dev console, it’s a straightforward language to master, write, and manipulate. It’s fun to work with because it’s honest, gives instant refreshed results, and in most cases, makes sense as to its outcome. -
I tend to match the OS needed to the task at hand.
Linux for production and online deployment of anything.
Windows as a means to create content and to communicate and manipulate Linux.
iOS to type this post to you all.
Today, 100% command line and maybe SFTP with CloudLinux/CentOS/RHEL. In my wild days, back in 2010-2012, I was a diehard Debian Linux geek and became a listed Ubuntu open source developer. I made a go for about two years at 100% Ubuntu for everything, breaking “free” of the Windows/Microsoft monopoly.
When you go “cold turkey” like this with a 100% Linux for everything, which I recommend anyone do for posterity, you eventually find a neutral level of mutual respect for what Microsoft does provide. In the end, Microsoft won. Today, I communicate and manipulate all my Linux systems and deployments via Windows 10 and haven’t looked back. -

Very nice.
