@psudo That is why Amazon lost some respect from me. This was double faced. Besides I don't own a fire tablet, but do they update it frequently? And how many modifications are there?
-
Amazon came to take interns from our college and they told us the reason why it's not native. I asked them in their QA session with students why their android app isn't native and the guy replied : Android is a fad right now but will die in a few years so why bother. I used to respect Amazon as a company, I still do but after hearing this it lost a bit of respect from me. Android currently dominates the mobile sector, if you can't embrace a new technology, amazon android tech team needs to be changed. Cmon Amazon give me a better app.
-
I also filled my whole days with projects this winter vacation so that I can be a little productive instead of sleeping my days away at home.
-
Well it looks like cancer spread 😜
-
Definitely coffee

Had the same query as you and I just asked about it yesterday.Read what Devs think here- https://www.devrant.io/rants/321947

I remember when I worked with maps API . Word of advice don't ever test that shit on emulator. And tinker it with a little bit and follow guides and tutorials which you can find online but mix them all to actually make it all run.

@willol although I'm a beginner I read a bit about FP for learning RxJava and one guy summed it perfectly for any area of dev- OOP is better to deal with a person and FP is better to deal with the data of that person.
-
@xios will look into it :)
-
@Artemix i will look into python flask then. Thank you for the suggestion.
-
@Artemix I'm going to mostly do back end stuff for small personal android app projects that I may release on play store. I currently don't have large database requirements.
-
@Letmecode thank you for sharing so much info. I'm thinking of learning Ruby with ror as I have sometimes discussed about ror code of one of my friend who is a web Dev.
-
@lostpirate Yes my purpose is to be able to code server side and make an api for my android app myself. I haven't learned Any concepts until now. I just thought it would be useful to ask other Devs before starting.
I have heard nodejs is quite tough so I was thinking of starting with ror. -
Yeah I agree that gradle has its bugs and quirks to irritate the hell out of someone but if you use some basic configs for gradle it is pretty fast. Use gradle daemons, parallels, configureondemand and increase jvmargs.
-
@nmunro You could take a look at kotlin if you are looking for Java alternative.
-
@heyheni I was so thinking of the suggesting same thing
-
Oh I think you forgot all the adapters in the IOS image 😂
-
I think we should make more of these.
-
Maybe start talking to her by mentioning devRant and then discussing how you both love this app and then other stuffs.
-
@DLMousey I also followed his android guide. Great way to start.
-
Mostly rock or hard rock from the 90's or instrumental metal madness
-
Anyone looking into kotlin ?
-
@zantekk What are you studying?
-
You have an Android professor?😱😱
-
I feel for you man. We have the same here. I definitely didnt need to know Biology while doing IT Engineering.
-
@siljamicke The teacher once said he thinks COBOL is the best language to code anything and new languages are shit. OS was windows,oh wait, maybe he wrote it that's why windows is so shitty.
-
@kai18 Believe me man. I also came here with the same beliefs. Yes we have faculty with great publications but still there are some idiots. I was in the lab sitting next to my friend when this happened so I can assure you this happened and the whole class heard it too. We have some great faculty, some good ones, and some idiots.
-
@aDib BIT mesra India. We have some good teachers too but this guy is...well... He is awesome( heavy sarcasm😫)
-
I've also had my fair share of ranting from my friends to stop hitting pen on the table doing magical hidden drumming😂
-
@elfico share some easy ones
