Who said we doesn't?
But seriously, JS can be very different. And the kind of gotchas it has is the exact kind that is easy to trip on coming from another language.
I think the approach to apply in your situation is "can't beat them, join them" and try to find some time to actually learn a bit in peace about language. -
@brahn
Nice! Didn't know that one :) -
In my native language (Polish) we have a word (made up) that combines "user" and "pest" ("uzyszkodnik" from "użytkownik" and "szkodnik" accordingly) xD
-
@Christine
IMHO we shouldn't be able to, and by design so. This should be purely convenience thing, not popularity-opinion-making-twitter-ish pissing contest.
At least I wouldn't want it to be... -
Well, you could return some metadata to base the render on, but frankly i have trouble imagining truly legit usecase for that.
-
Have you tried to stop and start it again?
-
Don't be shy. To be honest it's not like anyone will notice or give a damn about some repository - not until it is something they need at least.
You could make some issues with "first-pr" tags ti encourage ppl to contribute, therefore giving beginners chance to start contributing to OSS, and you chance to work with ppl.
But in general you have full control -
@SHA-256
I understood it as a care for fellow developer and we are all humans and have different experiences.
So I'd ask to resist downvoting ;) -
@Tychus I appreciate the advice, especially since ive had toxic relationship before, but that's not the case. Really she is awesome!
The whole rant was supposed to be more humorous than serious ;) -
@Tychus Ehh the words... I probably should have been more accurate and written "gets slightly annoyed, but not in very serious manner" but somehow that doesn't read particularly good IMHO ;P
-
Check blog post "We have problem with promises" by Nolan Lawson - it finally made them 'click' for me.
Can't recommend it enough -
@Tychus
I am more of a gf.appreciate() kind of guy ;) -
@billgates well... So basically as expected :D
-
@billgates So it seems you got your experiment after all ;) Well... an experiment at least
-
@billgates I meant that ppl took your joke too seriously ;)
-
@billgates Im weeping over dying sense of humor...
-
Nice try ;P
-
That's surprisingly fair and mature approach. Seldom ppl who tried vim end up with such healthy approach. Props bruh ;)
-
Given how world progresses so far... I don't know what will be the quantum programming language, but sure as hell JavaScript will run on them.
We already have node, electron, atom etc... so my prediction is that JS runtime for qm will be called Quark ;P -
@lukaroski Touchée
-
Are you learning Less ? ^^
-
To get them "soiled" ?
I'll find the exit myself... -
@w0ble
Well, you did say "and" after all... -
@retnikt you and me both brother 😂
-
@nmunro hence I agree with @retnikt that optional is a good idea
-
@retnikt well i got that, just curious why would you - im not that comfortable with it, and hex is more or less immediately readable - that's why im surprised
-
@retnikt what about it ?
-
Well if I won't clear things up in like month or two I'm gonna be harsh and will "unplug" myself from there... But i'd rather do that in good atmosphere and without chaos
-
@hube
Agreed, also what about having both dimensions too big -
@GinjaNinja well, i am a dev myself and im not employing anyone. I was just pointing out the irony
