@ElectroArchiver I hope to minimize the refactoring to the minimum at the beginning because of course the manager can't allow bigger refactors.
So I hope I could get the bundler up and running with minimal changes and do the refactor as I work on features/bugs etc. -
@hinst honestly I have experience working with webpack so choosing webpack seems easier choice for me, but compared to vite webpack suffers from a performance issues, on the other hand those issues can be solved by switching to esbuild which is what vite uses, but again everywhere that i've read webpack seems to be a bit buggy..

@PonySlaystation I just googled the keyboard what in the alien is that? Can you briefly word your experience how it is compared to the more "earthly" keyboards?
-
I agree with @Root I don't have anything against those with college degree, but nowadays colleges are like bootcamps and maybe worse depending on the country, they just get bloated with so much unneeded information, teaching them with the same books from 20 years ago, regarding that area I think bootcamps are doing better job, but when it comes to bootcamps all of them have these ads "In 3 Months you can earn a salary of up to 100K" and that's probably why most of the bootcampers think they are Senior Engineers.

@Sid2006 mmm I should do a test like that and see, although for me its not that my eyes start to hurt in dark mode it's rather I can focus better on the letters in light mode rather in dark mode.
-
I agree its inappropriate, but what does a degree has to do with being unprofessional? Should I stop working after 9 years just because I don't have a degree?
-
@melezorus34 Well surprisingly I never understood the concept of twitter so far so I've never had the need to use it, but recently saw that many developer related stuff are being tweeted, so I've decided to signup.
But not being able to signup?? My Manager goes on rampage if we have a bug in our signup flow... -
Thank you all for your comments I'm not sure why I've stayed until now, maybe I felled sorry for him I don't know really, it baffles me thinking about it.
I've decided to quit next month, and look for other job in meantime. -
@HitWRight No, but part of me probably feels sorry for him, as he is trying very hard for the project to succeed. And as I am the only developer there, me leaving would cause the development to stop.
-
If i may ask what configuration and what work will you be doing on it?
-
*apply water to burned area*
-
I always say my original name at the beginning of the interview but then I tell them that they can just call me $englishName
-
This is so cringy just imaging it gives me horror even annabelle can't compare to this... damn
-
Damn thats a lot of people asking if you can fix x for them to be fixed, did you go to a terapist after the party?
-
Is there a video of the tv debate online?
-
@dneustadt Well you could easily do the math here, test yourself or tell some friend with age same or closer to the average user's age to read that text and set that amount as threshold, then calculate the time it takes to process and finish the api request and then:
(apiTime > threshold ? showLonger : hideSpinner) -
If I am not wrong this falls under UX so its a reasonable request.
-
@sandeepbalan I know what you did there ';)
-
I use Material Theme Darker + FiraCode
-
So production finally went live, congratulations! Make sure you maint that. 😊
-
@maushax as a developer I don't care if the project is launched or not I still spent my time developing that
-
@devTea
-
@devTea i do agree with @norman70688 always ask 20% higher from what you expect if you have the skills, one of the good things being a developer is that there are always jobs, plus asking higher also makes you look more profesional if the job is proper ofcourse if you ask less they will get the impression that you are beginner in negotions and can't give real price tag so they can manipulate you into accepting even lower offer
-
I assume there wasn't any specific contract because if it was wouldn't the developer be able to sue the employee for breaking the contract?
Also open sourcing this wouldn't allow the employee to just use the code and hire some cheap beginner? -
But.....(one etenrity later)......why?
-
Not arrogant at all, actually its oposite if you've given them your CV and explained are the projects you've worked on plus what problems you've managed to solve, and in the end if they still ask you think then they are the arrogant ones. Plus if you are constantly contacted by many recruiters then it means you do have skills and wide job options.

@netikras
