As a Jewish I must note that the origin of "Magen David" is also Hindu. -
@Alice "violation of the law" seems a pretty good reason to me.. In Germany the swastika is a forbidden symbol, and the use of it is a serious crime - that's why German communities wont tolerate it. Context is important, and the swastika has a different context in germany than it has in India.

It actually is a mirror image of the Sanskrit one.
