Germany is the land of unpaid overtime hours... Don't be surprised if that's what it says in the contract

Welcome to Germany! Where are you moving to? It strongly depends on the company and the business they are in how work is going to be.
Also the overtime payment depends on the company and also your salary. -

I would love to meet you guys if possible. I will most likely fly to Frankfurt and than take train to Cologne. Arrival date is not confirmed, but should be around the end of March.

Most German work contracts forbid you to talk about salary. Just as a heads up, that clause is invalid by court decision.
Also, if you are new to German tax laws, I would probably suggest looking for a tax advisor as you can save a lot of money that way. -
kavenc6338y@Firedragonweb Talking about tax, I am wondering which is bettet interms of tax: 70k/year, or 60k/year + 10k/year rental support. (this is not my actual salary :p).

Definitely talk to an advisor about that. Generally talking, the car might be better, but that depends a whole lot on the actual numbers, size of your family, other bonuses etc.

My oversea job journey continues on.
I am relocating from Taiwan to Germany. I got my work contract draft from the company. I don't think there are any big issues. But I still would like to consult dev friends here about the contract.
Especially for German companies, are there any tricky things that should be noted in the contract but sometimes ignored (intentionally or unintentionally)?
Any other advices about work/life in Germany are sure welcomed.
