my boyfriend basically is offering to be my agent (for job hunting)
I mean... that's very supportive but weird
sigh I think I'll just die
apparently I'm smart. my brain is still scrambled eggs and now I seem to be oddly morose all the time
being smart means people wanna hire you, right? lol
but I'm not motivated for anything anymore. also working sucked because people just said weird snippy things to me like I did nothing which was incongruent. but hey it's that or you die. so joke's on me for having quit like 6 years ago and wanting someone to prove to me that not all workplaces would be like that. I really don't have a plan
maybe I don't even know myself. at which point that also deserves dying sooo -
I never ate the gum under desks... uegh
though yeah sharing drinks and food was fine
--
also younger generation has less sex. they also don't drink or do drugs apparently -

"I never ate the gum under desks... uegh"
Nobody did this. It was all reaction fodder.
Please don't tell the bugs that live in your eyebrows to stop having sex on your face at night. -
@jestdotty Wait, what do you mean "was", is sharing food/drinks taboo or something nowadays???
-
Hmm... Could also be the whole 'go play outside' we would hear as children. /* The older folks here, at least. */ Doesn't seem to be the case nowadays. More electronic devices, nowadays.
-
retoor16489d@SoldierOfCode yeah, I don't share, when i come to a party, i start directly with giving every beer bottle a lick so I own them.
-
retoor16488d@YourMom of course it's not serious, I will use perplexity to check it like a real giraffe. The “77% of Gen Z job seekers have brought a parent to an interview” line is technically based on a real survey, but it is very misleading if you read it as “three‑quarters of all Gen Z in the real world literally show up to job interviews with mom or dad.”
It comes from one online survey by ResumeTemplates of 831 self‑identified full‑time Gen Z workers, and even within that survey “brought a parent” is loosely defined and hyped in headlines. It is not a robust, representative measure of all Gen Z, and it conflicts with other data and with most hiring managers’ experience.
So: it’s a sensational stat from a single, marketing‑driven survey, not something to take at face value as a description of the whole generation. -
@retoor brought a parent could be simply having a parent drive them, because (and I was shocked to discover this), most gen z kids don't have a drivers license, and more importantly don't want one either!
Of course most of them don't have cars either, but with inflation and wage-theft/stagnation thats the least surprising thing these days. -
retoor16487d@Wisecrack they probably think it's too bad for climate. Haha. Well, the day I had a license AND a car, I decided to never do public transport again. But then, the government took my driving license and I live now on a place with no public transport within almost ten kilometers. So in the end, it got even worse, I am cycling 10 kilometers to use public transport. Living nightmare huh. But it's rarely, I have not much places to go what is actually sad and great at the same time. Since i don't have to travel in general, i probably won't buy a car again until i require one for some reason. Just having one for fun to often visit a friend of family is just too expensive joke here. The tax of owning one is just high, especially a decent one or going electric. But who would spent so much on a car that one barely drives? Bicycle for me next few years I guess :P
-
@retoor Hey, thats about the same distance I have to travel to go anywhere!
Only I walk because fuck gas prices!
You ever come to the states we should go biking the local paths. They go for like almost 50 KM if I've done my miles-to-km correct.
I've taken some of the guys and gals from my former work place there to hike. Makes it easier when you're the manager and they don't want to turn down free lunch! But the trails beautiful, and includes kayaking as an option. Mostly old people walking it, the occasional richbitches riding horses, and people walking their dogs.

Do you know why Gen X people have better immune systems than all yall whipper snappers?
Because we chewed the gum we found on the bottom of our school desks.
We didn't care if we drank from the same soda can.
It was common to play in parasite infested waters. (Actually a kid I knew in high school that got amoebas in his brain from that shit. He lost of a year of high school he had to repeat.)
Truth be told we probably don't have better immune systems. The younger gens are fucking each other and think condoms stop disease. So yall probably got Syphilis.
