Pointer32498yYou will only teach GitHub Desktop, BUT also will explain to them how it works at a "git" level, that way, you respect the rules AND teach them how it works, that its no black magic or something

that's the same reason I teach the freshman Java instead of C or python. command line scares them away it seems.

I dunno, it's not like the gui makes for an horrible repo like dreamweaver would for html but it still doesn't sit right with me.

I'm going to teach web dev at a coding school in a few months. In the teaching plan, students have to learn git. But we are told explicitly to only teach using github desktop and not the command line because it puts students off.
