cuddlyogre152411h@YourMom Yes and that's why everything is falling apart. It's all about how your coworkers make you feel and not what they are capable of.
Johnny was able to put together an MVP in a week but he wasn't very good culture fit so we had to let him go. -
retoor12411hYeah, true, it's very about people, that's how i passed some interviews with almost exclusively humor with barely tech talk.

Devs used to build logic in a consise, explicit and predictable way, striving for elegance and clean code that resembles poetry, enter AI and we're back on square one using ambiguous and verbose natural language to describe what our tools should do. LLMs are just as bad as the people they try to copy.

Root774449h@retoor Tech is easy. People are easy. They’re self-absorbed and inwardly greedy/fixated on furthering their own values/goals, which they often wear on their sleeves. These values rarely make sense, but they make the individuals very predictable. Soft skills are simply noticing and following those behavior patterns. It’s as easy to get a person to do what you want as it is with a machine.

@cuddlyogre my co workers are capable of making me feel so bad that it makes me look incompetent to their bosses
did I do it right? -
@Root how 2 get what I want out of people
hmm
- x2 my salary
- get unpaid time off / more vacation
- get manager to stop making me work overtime on weekends for no reason
- never be on unpaid on call again
- not have to do timesheets -

I wish dev work was about the tech, the logic, the architecture
but annoyingly it's always about people
