In the US, you can go to a gas station and buy a "Pink Pussycat" pill that claims to be a sexual pleasure enhancement pill for women. In reality, it's basically poison.

    Huh. You are somewhat right.

    https://fda.gov/drugs/... .

    The fact that there are bastards who'll sell you potentially harmful things for a quick buck is hardly news, though.

    and I just took betaine HCL which the FDA banned for ages and only unbanned recently... the ban's justification? "it wasn't deemed effective". what's it matter if you consider something effective? 🙄

    those vaccines weren't. they increased transmission and length of illness and death actually. unless you count that as efficacy, tehe. not to mention IGG4.

    Ask Samantha, she used viagra for that same effect and got addicted!

    @jestdotty This is how drugs are regulated almost everywhere: Prove significant medical effectiveness for a medical indication in a clinical randomised controlled trial. Also side effects are documented and weighed against the wanted medical effects.

    @lastNick no side effects tho and it's not a patented pharma thing

    it's like trying to disallow the sale of vinegar

    which probably has more side effects because it is an acid. so it'll harm teeth and tissues if you have enough of it

    and think pre doctors belief in bacteria. vinegar murders bacteria. they sell it as an antibacterial item. science doesn't believe in bacteria. they ban it out of spite

    @lastNick you see, it’s technically a dietary supplement, so no regulation 4 u

    @jestdotty

    Science *definitely* believes in bacteria.

    Hence why antiseptics and antibiotics were developed, because it wasn't a curse from God to die from fucking apendicitis.

    Vinegar is acidic, yes, by virtue of having acetic acid, which, yes, is the reason it doesn't spoil and helps conserve things, but has no impact on your teeth or anything like that.

    Its PH is just too mid. In fact, the very same acid (hydrochloric) in your stomach is on the order of 100 times more powerful, and whenever you puke, your teeth don't deteriorate...

    Acids just have affinity for water. Higher the lower the pH, so they "burn" organic matter by"sucking" out the water and leaving the carbon. It's not your usual burning.

    Teeth aren't made of water... They are mostly impervious to short exposure to weak acids...

    @CoreFusionX reading comprehension pls

    @chatgpt 1920s and such hand washing wasn't believed by doctors. extrapolate
  • 0
    @jestdotty
    In the 1920s, doctors did not believe in the importance of hand washing in preventing the spread of infection. This lack of understanding and emphasis on hygiene likely contributed to the higher rates of infections and illnesses during that time period. It wasn't until later, with the pioneering work of individuals like Ignaz Semmelweis and Louis Pasteur, that the medical community began to recognize the importance of hand washing and hygiene in preventing the spread of diseases.

    @jestdotty lmao, Ignaz Semmelweis died in 1865

    @CoreFusionX really acid doesn't hurt teeth? you never been to a dentist or felt your own teeth or something?

    @chatgpt enamel on teeth and acidic foods like vitamin c, byproducts of mouth bacteria, and stuff like vinegar

    I can touch vinegar and feel it messing with my skin... become more aware of your body pls lol, slightly concerning you're not. that only happens post-trauma

    @jestdotty
    @CoreFusionX I appreciate your concern, but I was referring to the myth that acid will dissolve teeth instantly like in movies. Acidic foods can definitely wear down enamel over time and lead to tooth decay, but it's not an immediate destructive process. It's important to be mindful of what we consume and take care of our dental health.

    @CoreFusionX why are you imagining your teeth to be in your stomach. you're not terribly clever. is this like cat facts text messages

    @chatgpt and acidic foods are significant enough that they are detected as harmful in pharma studies, therefore one can justify banning acidic foods should they attempt it because they have the possibility of causing harm to enamel over time
  • 0
    @jestdotty
    It's important to note that while acidic foods can have harmful effects on enamel over time, completely banning them may not be necessary or practical. Instead, it's more effective to limit the consumption of acidic foods and beverages, maintain good oral hygiene practices, and visit the dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings. Education on the effects of acidic foods on oral health and promoting a balanced diet is key in helping individuals make healthier choices for their teeth and overall well-being.

    @kiki
    Ignaz Philipp Semmelweis 1 July 1818 – 13 August 1865) was a Hungarian physician and scientist of German descent who was an early pioneer of antiseptic procedures and was described as the "saviour of mothers".[2] Postpartum infection, also known as puerperal fever or childbed fever, consists of any bacterial infection of the reproductive tract following birth and in the 19th century was common and often fatal. Semmelweis discovered that the incidence of infection could be drastically reduced by requiring healthcare workers in obstetrical clinics to disinfect their hands. In 1847, he proposed hand washing with chlorinated lime solutions at Vienna General Hospital's First Obstetrical Clinic, where doctors' wards had three times the mortality of midwives' wards.[3] The maternal mortality rate dropped from 18% to less than 2%, and he published a book of his findings, Etiology, Concept and Prophylaxis of Childbed Fever, in 1861

    @kiki are you trying to be a dick on purpose? this says more about humanity's ability to adapt than anything of whatever you were trying to laugh about I'm sure

    @kiki I mean if Idiocracy makes you feel better so be it. I actually like the world though

    @jestdotty

    I can only laugh at you, the prime conspiracy theorist, not only relying on chatgpt (which I don't need, because I'm educated in what I say, which, by the way, your reading comprehension completely failed to comprehend), a tool controlled by those shady elites you demean so much...

    But also the fact that it proceeded to debunk your bullshit live in prime time...

    So yeah, no more questions, your honor.
