retoor84792d@atheist recently also wanted to do that for someone. But I dicided to let it rest. I don't know the person so well so not sure if it's the biggest bastard ever or a but incompetent. But when he was in the narrow corner he started to be unreasonable and even started lying.
-
@retoor according to my manager we have "different recollections" when asked over slack, but no further explanation is given. I've already decided to take my employer to court so now just getting evidence.
-
My coworker did that at his previous job.
I didn't want to pry, so the details are unknown to me.
But generally when you want to resort to such action, you're dealing w/ a lot of bullshit.
Either that or you're an asshole wanting to get someone in trouble, but this option is outside the scope for this rant.
/* Like some retarded coworker acting like a spoiled brat, bitching to the boss after I pointed out something retarded he had done by uttering the timeless phrase 'WTF are you doing?'. */ -
@D-4got10-01 I'm dealing with *a lot* of bullshit. TBH proving my manager's assholery would just be icing on the cake. I can prove the company has broken health and safety regulations and GDPR/data protection regulations, as both of those relate to a disclosed disability they've also broken disability protection regulations.
So yes, a lot of bullshit. -
@atheist Hmmm with asshole managers having a bundle of docs of his assholeness is handy. Audio would be nice, just check you are allowed to record without announcing it, however with a lot of the types of people just telling them that they'll be recorded will get them to calm down a bit as well.
Either way, I wish good luck and get that big bag -
@BordedDev whistleblower protections are pretty strong in the UK, I can record anything as long as I reasonably believe I'm acting in the general good and only disclose it to certain parties. Parties I'm allowed to disclose it to are my lawyer and the employment government agency.
-
@atheist Yup. Got the 'dealing w/ a lot of bullshit' from previous rants.
I have purchased a spycam for that very reason.
...also because some fuck had been 'borrowing' stuff w/o asking. -
this is why i love rooting phones and saving all phone calls. never know when it could come in handy. plus I suck at remembering details people gave me in audio
every org and gov wants to record everything you do so it would be kind of nuts to not allow the lowly citizen to record their encounters. I don't even think gov/orgs warn you that you're on camera anymore (probably there were laws for that...)
If your manager is an asshole in unrecorded 1-on-1's, buy a dictaphone.
