Demolishun3799422d@Lensflare What?! I always found them reliable for the most part. Haven't used bluetooth though.
-
Demolishun3799422d@BordedDev I can't remember, but I think I had a gaming mouse that the switch went out early it seemed. But I also had the same issue with Corsair.
But the logitech keyboard/mouse combos I use as work have lasted 6 years. I just had to replace mine I got when I started in 2018 a few months ago because of the mouse. Sometimes right click doesn't work. -
D-4got10-01117722dDitto on the Logitech being reliable for me.
Then again, maybe I'm just lucky.
OT: Yup. I tried using Bluetooth mouse && keyboard w/ my PC-On-A-Stick. They worked unreliably, w/ lag or something like that, IIRC.
Chose to upgrade to wired connection, since that one just works. -
BordedDev174022d@Demolishun Yeah, I use one of their more expensive mice g903, I replaced it recently enough to replace the switches on the old one also because of the right click. Never got round to doing it, though. With me, it tends to be the scroll wheel starts to gum up before anything else. The last one lasted nearly 4 years I think
@D-4got10-01 I find their proprietary connector to also work very well. I can't tell the difference between my mouse when it's wired or wireless (yes it supports both, doesn't just charge when wired) -
Demolishun3799422d@D-4got10-01 I do have concerns over Logitech's forever mouse though. I hope they don't make their regular line less reliable to sell those.
-
D-4got10-01117722d@Demolishun Huh. I had to catch up w/ the concept of 'forever mouse'.
Well, that idea sucks from the consumer's perspective.
Yet another area that wants to sell you subscriptions.
It would be terrible, indeed, if they started basically sabotaging the older hardware to push the consumers towards the new model.
But I guess we just need to wait && see how it all plays out. -
Lensflare2051622d@Demolishun It‘s been a long time since I had Logitech products but I had mice, game pads and speakers. Every single one broke electrically or mechanically within 1-2 years.
The gamepad was within warranty so I replaced it with a new one with the same model. It broke in exactly the same way as the previous one.
I concluded that all of their products are garbage designed for planned obsolescence. -
kiki3733919d@Demolishun forever mouse? The same forever mouse they wanted to make a subscription based product?
-
kiki3733919d@Demolishun The statement continued, outlining that the subscription-based gaming mouse was a “peek into the provocative internal thinking of future possibilities for more sustainable consumer electronics.” 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

TerriToniAX262719dThis is my third Logitech MX Master 2S. They usually last for four years, which isn't great but still OK considering how much I use them. On the first one, left click got sort of numb and on the second one, the scrool wheel stopped responding altogether. Both of them connected through their own dongle which worked fine. This third one with BT does not, and I'm going to have it replaced.
-
TerriToniAX262719dYeah, forgot to mention: At home I have a G502 gaming mouse. It's great for allround use and also quite durable. This is my second one. The old one lasted for many years despite of heavy use. It still works, except left click is quite wore down.
In general, Logitech are very inconsistent. Some of their products are crap while others are great. Some are great in one aspect while they suck in another. For example, I love my mechanical keyboard G513. It still has that crispy clicky feeling, but the key caps look terrible! Shift, Ctrl and the arrow keys looked worn after just a couple of months.
Gone are the days when things lasted. I bought a Logitech mouse in 2001 that lasted until 2018 when it eventually started glitching. -
Lensflare2051619d@TerriToniAX yes, sadly logitech is far from the only one who's products reliably break after a few years.
And the companies have won because they have convinced their customers that this is absolutely normal. Most of their customers are probably too young to remember that products lasting for a lifetime used to be normal. -
TerriToniAX262719d@Lensflare
If politicians are being serious about tackling the climate changes, they should legislate on product quality with heafty penalties for any manufacturer that fails to meet the standards. -
Lensflare2051619d@TerriToniAX planned obsolescence is already illegal. Companies circumvent that by pretending that the product just breaks naturally and there is no way to prove otherwise.
You can‘t prove that the company isn't just failing to make the products last for very long.
