I hate that services think that just because you sign up for their service (even just to use once - such as a job board or something) they have permission to send you unlimited, unsolicited marketing emails.

If I found the original creator of such a practice, I would waterboard them with vodka.

    I approve of vodka boarding. It should be accompanied by swearing in Russian.

    @Demolishun or polish. I think there's a bit fight about who the inventor was.

    @chatgpt what is the origin of vodka and is wodka the same as vodka?

    @retoor
    The exact origin of vodka is debated, with both Russia and Poland claiming to be the birthplace of the popular spirit. The word "vodka" is derived from the Slavic word "voda," meaning water, and both Russia and Poland have long histories of producing and consuming vodka.

    As for the spelling "wodka," it is not a separate spirit from vodka but simply the Polish or Czech word for vodka. In some countries, such as Poland, the spirit is spelled and pronounced as "wodka," while in others, it is spelled and pronounced as "vodka." Regardless of the spelling, it refers to the same type of clear distilled spirit traditionally made from grains or potatoes.

    @retoor okay, that fact that there is a fight over who invented vodka makes it even better.

    Those sites suck because it's not their intention at all to help you. It's all about side business. You, finding a job, would actually be bad for them.

    Their whole concept is a scam. Only site that delivered me a job, is on LinkedIn and because they find me instead of them. Normally I find jobs trough former business collegues or switch to a customer I like. Yh, last one is evil, but we're not married and I'm not a slave either. Would always do what makes me moet happy. Yes, they threatened with a lawsuit but that that would make them completely lose customer what even costs more

    @retoor interesting about client hopping

    @jestdotty I did one time to client, one time to concurrent. Both times it ended up to a fight between companies. When I moved to concurrent I was dissapointed that they didn't want to let me have it. I spend a great amount of effort at that company and we were on good terms. I would've expect that they just would accept it instead of attacking my new company. I thought that I would end up with no job at all that period since my former company was way more powerful than my new one. There was no leverage like the story with customer
