    Fuck it... Tell him to call *insert your number here* when you get off, and tell him it’ll be 200$ an hour to fix his issue. Boom, side profit.

    @linuxxx While at work, I rant all day long. ☺

    @Root I want to keep private and professional very much separated :)

    @linuxxx oh. I made a joke.
    I rant all day long because work constantly makes me upset/angry. I occasionally share on devRant, and some of those times do so while at work!

    When the client/customer/lost soul just doesn’t get it I like to just continually ask them a question that forces them to grok the situation... like: ‘who is your <provider that isn’t me>’. For example: “okay, maybe I can help you figure this out, _who is_ your *hosting provider*”? They will, at first, brush it off and keep spouting out their issue to you blindly, but if you can stick it out and just keep asking and putting the emphasis on ‘who is’ and ‘<service that’s not you>’, then most of the times it will eventually click with them and they’ll start to realize they might not be talking to the correct person/dept./company... but the keyword there is ‘eventually’; it takes patience and mind numbing hand-holding, but once you help them understand they usually remember for a few weeks or months and might even call back soon to have you do work that actually is in your field! ;) :P

    @linuxxx if he is going to be illogical one even after you telling him, you can follow the trend. Ask him to get his bank credentials as they are needed to fix emails.
