I think I got off Facebook more than 10 years ago. I need to check, but I don't think any of my phone apps have any kind of listening enabled. I need to check permissions though.

Though I don't believe this would stop Google from doing this anyway.

Oh, and I just saw a video of 2 FBI agents trying to intimidate the founder of Odyssey at his home today. They "just wanted to talk" TM. They refused to give their full names or show their federal ID. They repeatedly told the founder to shut off his camera. This is intimidation 101. Also, if the feds don't like what is on Odyssey and it is related to the election. This could be election interference by the FBI.

The irony is there is an iPhone in the pic, but this spyware only worked on Android

@kiki indeed. Also I was wondering if Android has the same global UI indicating that your mic is currently in use, specifically to stop apps like facebook from being able to listen without the user knowing about it.

@Lensflare when's the last time you used Android?

Yes, Android does show you an icon when a sensitive feature is being used. Be it camera, microphone, location...

If Android does this, then IMO there is no problem. Apps can not secretly spy on you using the mic.
In that case this article makes no sense.
