I wrote virusses when I was young, different times. They had virusscan back then (Norton mainly, kaspersky) but it was not good in recognizing new stuff like your virus. Firewalls were not popular yet. But main difference: less skilled users. That's now different - people know not to click on anything. Had a botnet work of thousand clients. Smth was wrong with server making that the limit. It was written in Vb6.

It was a lot of fun. Target was to made money of teddy ash, madcash and waverevenue toolbars. Didn't became rich, but my friend made enough for a MacBook. We were quite young so it was a lot.

If I could go back to that time with current knowledge.. Wieuw

also yeah if it's a new virus tools don't catch it they just get virus reports then hash the virus or something so they can identify it. you can just break that by ruining the hashing. or you could before I guess

man there's some really nasty viruses out there. they hide in the unused sectors on your disk so you just can't get rid of them. crazy stuff

I think with viruses like any other tech people forget the old versions and just use tools, relying on one esoteric virus ability ("library") and nobody even knows it's doing that anymore, so there's probably lots of room to bring back the oldies and shock the world

but anyway I said nothing. I think it's kinda neat humans forget amazing things we had before. gives you more breathing room

you're supposed to find something they would find equally as hurtful if you want to communicate your boundaries were crossed / something is not ok with you

doing the same thing back can be used to build empathy, but people generally have psychopathy in that area for one reason or another. it's very rare flipping the places will help teach empathy because their worldview is going to be too different for them to get the same emotions you did from the situation
