It looks like serving http/2 with Nginx is pretty easy. I want to move to that with my websites.

A very satisfactory debugging happened to me not long ago, when I discovered that assignement in C++ and Python doesn't work exactly the same.. I never took courses in Python so I had no way of knowing. I'm a self taught programmer, so I also always feel a bit insecure about my skills.
What made it really satisfying was that when I finally googled it, it was only to confirm the "diagnosis" that I had already made. I felt like years of struggles got me somewhere, now I feel a bit less insecure about my knowledge and skills in programming. :)

HAHA! Google just got fined 4.34bn EUR by the EU! According to the EU they forced manufacturers to preinstall their search app and browser. In my opinion, a fine like this is a nice statement, but doesn't really affect a company that makes 111bn US$ per year. I think there needs to be proper taxation for GAFA!

So today I was with my I guess 9-10yo cousin. He was playing clash of clans.
I told him, “you can also make this type of games”.
After this he was stared at me for like 25-30sec his face expression was awesome. Then said “seriously? I thought games are developed on a certain place where all the games are made.”
I said “no anyone can create games if you know how to code and all.”

After that multiple questions was on the way and I answered all for him.

But he totally amazed with this knowledge. And I felt good to.

Have been now testing the new vsCode FileSystemProvider implementations and got to say this one finally hits the nail*, all these years sftp integration has been absolute trash, especially sublimes version, was a hack at most, that was barely maintained, but charged atleast three times as much to remove a popup message.

It's so nice having still working prompts on connect, the filesystem being synced into the files viewer in under a second, even for big folders (was a common problem for other in-editor sftp), all operations are done natively and more, it's just such a treat to look at, I can only see them improving it further, for the search to work natively too and provide more APIs for the plugins to hook into.

I honestly thought I'd be stuck with winscp forever, so now I finally can just have an all in one solution and not leave vsCode for almost anything else but previewing the results.

So I've been working as an operator in IBM for a year now. Two months after my onboard our team got an onboarding freeze. Since then more than a half of the team left and more are supposed to go, soo there is a problem covering all the workload. I volunteered to take 4th customers workload (out of 4 customers our team supports) because I already knew most of the work that is done there.
At a one-to-one meeting with my manager I asked for a little raise, because I have the 4th customer, I take other peoples shift anytime they need to take a free day, I update the documentation regularly, I write scripts for coworkers for installing software/automating what can be automated (and I'm the youngest here...) bla bla, telling him that I think I do a lot for the team and I deserve it. He told me that he would rather take away one of the customers workload. I rolled my eyes and went with it.
Two days later this asshole gave a raise to a guy, who was onboarding with me, because he wanted to motivate him. That very same day he told us that it seems like two customers are going to merge into one workload.
I'm so pissed because of this. I do my best all the time so I can get promoted to 2nd level linux team (I'm kinda one foot there) but the freeze is still preventing me to go. I'm already so tired of dealing with the bullshit of customer not knowing their own infrastructure, shitstorms of tickets during changes after level 2 didn't set maintenance mode again, repairing coworkers linux boxes because they don't know better and I'm so pissed at this un-initiative dickhead of a manager that gives a raise to lazy people.
