@Root yup, people warned me about game development and yet I still went for it 😃🔫
-
@Gregozor2121 correct me if I'm wrong but don't desktop hdds also use 12V?
@Nanos That sadly I do not know. It could be that's the case, I just never checked the temperatures of my storage
@Parzi doubt it, but possible. I think that I switched the branch cause I suspected something like that, but for the life of me I can't be sure. -
@Nanos 60-65 idle for cpu
...
Don't ask -
@dejaime huh that's kinda makes sense. Wouldn't it try to kill my other components as well tho?
I did use to get BSOD relatively frequently, but only when I leave the PC unattended for a while, don't know if it's related. -
@Joni4Games no clue, it worked great for 8 years and then suddenly it started being suicidal
-
@mundo03 this. I never realized this before I applied for a job.
"How much experience do you have?"
"Well I don't have any industry experience but i did work on these projects for this many years"
"Cool, that's experience right there" -
@nekody it's called Madbox, but you're probably not gonna find anything about it online since they're pretty secretive of it
(is secretive even a word?) -
Either Powerwolf, Sabaton or Ghost.
I know I could've said metal, but I literally only listen to these when I code. -
How dafuq do you have successful career at that age?
I don't know about other countries, but here, at 19 you're still in high school. Than add 4 or 5 years for University, and then you'll be lucky if you score some intern level position for few months. -
@hypervtechnics dude I can't see shit there
-
@Kandelborg actually decided to give it a shot, and after only few hours I realized that Duckduckgo is just awful for my region.
For example, I tried to search for a fire that happened few months ago in a nearby place, by searching for "<Place> fire" (in native language ofc),and duckduckgo shows 3 results for a fire that happened over a year ago, then just few different store pages (guessing cause they're in that location), then just recent Serbia news that has nothing to do with either fire or <place> (other that they're both in Serbia), and then just nonsense results that have nothing to do with anything I searched for, some of which aren't even in Serbian.
Startpage.com is MUCH better. -
@FrodoSwaggins let's not forget facebook for university group
-
@FrodoSwaggins I will, but as I said that only covers search and email. And even then I'm still using google classroom, unmodified android and windows.
This is basically nothing -
@FrodoSwaggins while I will try SDF, I hope you get my point.
I don't have money for VPN, dedicated pc, or server.
I can't game if it's not on windows.
I have no control over my phone.
For university I am actually required to use google and windows.
Not everyone is in position you're in. If you're homeless and someone gives you a baloney sandwich, you're really in no position to complain that you don't like sausage. -
@FrodoSwaggins cool I might give it a shot. Privacy or not it's something I always wanted to try
-
@FrodoSwaggins I THINK not sure, but think, that that's what I went with. But that's not even the problem. It it barely runs vanilla wow, I can't imagine it running anything newer.
Also, is there any possibility for free hosting? -
@FrodoSwaggins honestly not sure, it's been 2 years since I last tried it. Don't remember
-
@FrodoSwaggins nVidia gts 450.
Any free options? Paying is almost impossible for me -
@forE My setup can't. On lowest, the stutter it literally unplayable. No problem on Windows (still on lowest tho)
-
@FrodoSwaggins and that's fine. I can respect that.
I've been using the same mail I did when I was 14 (or so, not really sure).Every account I have is tied to it, so migrating to something else is almost impossible. But if it was, what would you recommend?
Also which search engine and cloud storage?
Also I can't run Dota trough steam on linux. WINE is also out of the question since it can't run Vanilla wow for God's sake.
What about my android? It's a loan so I'm not able to root it.
Most importantly, what's you youtube substitute?
Also what am I to do since I need google classroom for my University? -
@FrodoSwaggins fair point, my bad
-
@FrodoSwaggins look man, I still have all the respect for you and for everyone that disagreed with me in this thread.
Just because we disagree doesn't mean that I think I'm better than you or that I'm trying to make you think like I do.
I remember a while ago you had a "mega rant", and one of your points were that people who like c# are just...wrong.
Come on man. I use unity so I like c#. I'm not saying it's better than anything else, I'm just saying that I like it and that that's my personal opinion, which should have no impact on you whatsoever. People are individuals. Not everyone has to conform to your standards.
I would just like to bury the hatchet -
@forE I agree, this thread is mostly pointless, and I'm getting tired of it.
No offence here, I really respect everyone's way of thinking, but at this point, you two sound to me like a paranoid conspirators who would take their ID picture if they didn't had to, whereas I probably sound like a corporate shill trying to do a damage control after the last leak scandal.
(Please don't take that as an insult, it's meant as a joke).
This was never meant to be a Steven Crowder-esk "Change my mind" topic I simply wanted to see if other people feel similarly to myself.
As I said before. i didn't try to change anyone's mind here. -
@FrodoSwaggins I will thx and good for you man, you're a Linux user. I like my gaming so I'm not.
I'm open to education, it's just that you're not presenting any info that's already not a public knowledge.
I said that I get you point of view, and that even tho I think differently, yours is still valid, but you're aggressively dismissing my way of thinking and trying to convert me to yours. -
@forE I'm getting a great Search, free cloud storage, one of the best translate tools, gps navigation, solid browser etc etc... And to me it's convenient that they're all in one place.
And please, I'm seriously not getting it, I'm not trying to be provocative, what are they gonna do with your phone number? Get your name? Most people use nicknames.
Get your name trough a contract with the phone company? You're fucked there even if I don't give them the number. I just don't get why the phone number is so important. You're literally trusting other people with it. It's the least secure thing you have. -
@FrodoSwaggins who's pretending? We know they are.
-
@forE ok you're not, and that's fine. But I am. And that's also fine.
For God's sake, I shared my picture on here.
Why is it so hard to get that some people get "the consequences" of sharing data, but still choose to do it cause the company actually gives me something in return. -
@FrodoSwaggins you keep getting back to Equifax like it happens every day.
@forE ok I'm sorry if I'm missing the point, but what's that app gonna do with your phone number?
Hell I'd argue that the phone number is the least safe thing you have cause you're trusting every person you ever gave it to to not do anything with it. -
@forE I said that before. You have sooo many things to chose from, that's not the only todo app. If you don't like it, don't use it. It's that simple. I like Google, so I'm fine with them knowing shit about me.
-
@forE that very well might be, but I'm yet to hear what kind of data are they collecting that I'm not fine with
