The most fun I have while programming is when I work on something that I enjoy. Even if it won't be a huge project in the end, working on an interesting idea is always the most fun I can have.

I am sure most people can relate, too.

Build project on GitHub with new tags, refresh every hour to see what if somebody found it and like "WOW check this out"? Pft, who am I kidding, still zero.

An oldie but a goodie: Take a screenshot of the desktop, hide all icons and task bar, put the screenshot as the wallpaper, watch colleague sizzle.

Now that you can make native apps in javascript for all platforms, is there any use for learning native development? Why not just learn a flavor of javascript and launch on all platforms?

I find it way easier to read code than ordinary text.

Best: Got a job at a rather big company, totally unqualified. They wanted me to start working on an android app to help maintain safety in their manufacturing halls using beacon/ibeacons technology. I had never made an android app, nor worked with gui. All by myself, I created the app and its necessary back-end logic. They were so impressed they wanted me back during the holidays or whenever i have the time, as I'm still studying.

Nothing feels better than seeing yourself doing better as a self taught web developer compare to some jsackass with a CS degree who talks about what he learnt in school couple years ago. Who cares? You can't do shit at work and I don't even know why you work here if you have no desire to learn new things. If he graduated in late 90s he would still be coding in PHP 3.0.

The real question.

My work keyboard is slim and quiet, 45 wpm.

Replaced it with my clickity clackety keyboard, 70 wpm and made the hipsters move away from me.
