For this year I have four main tasks I have set myself:
1. Don't lose my job
2. Write a few toy programming languages
3. Blog about said languages and things I learnt at work
4. Get married
I'm pretty excited about most of those but would love some tips on how you guys have overcome challenges in similar endevours4 -
* The app is almost ready, boss asked me to show the progress.
Boss: The design is bad, I don't like it 🤔
Me: I just implemented the design, which is approved
Boss: Really? because I "feel" that the design is bad on the screen.
Me: Okay 😐, can you tell me what exactly the part to change?
Boss: I don't know, *calls the designer
Designer: *showing his PSDs* yes it is the same, and you [the boss] approved it.
Boss: Ok make some changes to make it feel better.
Me: (Inside: 😡 ) ok, have you some suggestions?
Boss: dunno,
Me: at least tell me what is wrong with it
Boss: dunno

User: “I’ve tried hundreds of different names. How come all the usernames are registered?!😤”
Developer: ”I’m quite confident about my code. Can’t find any issue in this login form.🤔”
QA: “It passed all unit tests. We did a comprehensive testing on live server by registering all the possible names. What can go wrong?🙀”1 -
I wrote my resignation letter yesterday, all’s good.
Today, bossman walks in:
“I’ve got some great news, all our developers are getting a raise”
Me: *well shit*15
