@MrCSharp I was going to write the correction but I'm too lazy
-
Udemy does so many massive sales that you probably won't miss the money. The amount of courses I've paid for that advertise for like 200-400 but I bought for 10-15. That's like a reasonably priced book.
-
Hey can you fix my iPhone?
In the 25 years we've known each other, have you ever seen me use a single apple product? -
6x salary! Sounds like you're currently working for government
-
This made noise come out my mouth. It was the start of a laugh but my shame repressed it. ++
-
Do you smell burned toast? I think you might be having a stroke. Easy to see why
-
@jameslikestea angular + Vue?
-
@mt3o @heyheni great advice
-
@JhonDoe I am think he was on ethernet but my computer's were on wireless. And I'm pretty sure there was a ridiculous limit on wirelessly connected devices.
-
Love this one! Always works. Best I ever got someone he started sending pictures of it when it went past 100%.
-
I will be doing this soon also, comments appreciated
-
Do something that is equal parts useless and impressive. Like balancing a fork on a toothpick
-
@AnonyOps the fact that they were so blasé about you saying you'll charge more suggests to me that they don't intend to pay you. As others have said, a strongly worded letter with legal terms might be all that is necessary. I don't know US law but in the UK we have small claims court. Usually just filing gets people to pay up, especially when they know they are in the wrong.
But as per my previous comments, I would love it if you just totally fucked their company up and published it all online. I really hate companies that don't pay. It has personally affected me badly more than once. -
@cannonau I'll do that when I show them 😋
-
Freelancers and small businesses should get a license to kill business customers that don't pay them. A dramatic overreaction sets a precedent for others who may be thinking about not paying or are so careless to ignore 6 months worth of invoices.
-
Do it. Do it. Do it.
-
I've stolen colour schemes from MS Office in the past
-
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
I'm looking at you Os.js -
@CodeMasterAlex good point.
-
Take note, this is what a good rant looks like.
-
Let reads nicer. That is literally the only reason I'm using it. Sure, it sorts loads of problems with var but I was already dealing with that shit by default after all these years.
-
@Alice I thought everyone was just pointing out that html and CSS are not programming languages. Of course they're important!
-
I still teach this method to teenagers when doing JavaScript for the first time.
-
@Yvan I'm thinking of formats.
-
But files do have types...
-
OMFG 😂😂

@pechora the honest truth is this person is clearly too inexperienced to be a manager in the first place, which I know something about. I was a manager at 19 and it was totally wrong. I had no idea how to get people to respect me as a manager and as a result I settled for just being everyone's friend. This person probably thinks that by calling you out on your time keeping they are doing a good job establishing authority. Plus they probably think that's what their job is. There are two approaches you could go for (ignoring the option of just coming in on time).
Discuss with HR about formalising flexible working so you can come in later.
Look for a new job. (Might seem drastic)
Do not go over their head and do not try to prove a point by continuing to come in late. The only way to beat a shit boss is to do your job properly along with all the parameters including time keeping. -
I firmly believe that if my manager watches the clock in the morning, I can watch it in the afternoon. Give me shit for being late and I'll never work overtime, I will never answer emails or the phone outside of work hours and I will always take a second sick day because it's less suspicious than getting over the flu in a day.
Or... You just chill and accept that most of us are useless before our 10 o'clock coffee anyway. -
@NeedsMoreDivs my response isn't a direct response to you. It's a general dig at all the people on devrant, including people commenting on this thread, who shit all over programming languages and the people that use them simply because it doesn't fit in with their conformist uninnovative way of thinking. They just want everything to stay exactly as it was when they started.

@gogo199432 it's not on its way out. You still need JavaScript for the frontend. Learn as many languages as you can. Get familiar with using nodejs and give golang a try. PHP will be around forever so get used to looking at that as well.
