2 lessons I learned from history:
Life is too short to learn the latest JS framework, library, tool…
If you wake up and think you can solve the problems of web development by creating a new wonderful JS framework/library/tool this can make the perfect Todo list in a single line… well today you should sleep more -
@electrineer thank you, I will try when at home!
-
Sometimes uBlockOrigin doesn’t work well… any suggestion is very welcome maybe in the update or custom rules?
-
And when YouTube manages a way to block the video, I click on share button and watch the video in the embed preview!
Yeah! Take that Google! Do you like it?!? If it is in my computer it is mine and I do what I want ✊ -
I use all possible ad blockers.
All at once -
@electrineer No I logged out and keep watching ads free, but sometimes I login to see if they still tracking logged in users...

Trying to open car with house keys
Typing home computer Pw to unlock office computer -
@Sid2006 it is still blocked as of today, I am still working, they are so desperate they are not making the first move.
A colleague just resigned today. I am going to enjoy the next 2 months of high payments and then resign on the last day of probation so I don’t need to give notice.
I feel I was deceived when I signed the contract as none of the conditions I was offered was real. They even tried to delay the payment by 10 days, so I had to alert the local labor union.
To my excuse I have to admit that I was really depressed because I was treated so bad by my previous manager that I was not able to get all the red flags -
I spent some time implementing it on a GUI because I thought it was a good idea 😅
I guess it is always important to fully customize the gui to be the most accessible to anyone, maybe the shake could be “unreadable” by someone but somebody else might not be able to recognize the colors if they are hardcoded.
Anyway yours is an interesting point. Thank you for helping me opening my eyes a little bit more -
Stretch the dates… fill the gaps… 🧙♂️

@horus the only problem of Italy is that it is full of Italians
-
@lorentz yes, double check to avoid hiring the wrong person (me) as at the moment there was a local politician with my same surname… or maybe it was to check if I had the “qualifications”
By the way, his wife (politician) was hired without qualifications in a local hospital at that time… -
@thebiochemic 6000€ hp workstation

Congratulations!
I would have appended instead of assigning a single object to an array but maybe I don’t know that syntax -
The guy in the picture has “vision” and can see potential beyond what bare eye can see IMO
Meme or not it is a nice picture I didn’t know, so nice post 👍 -
In every state machine I always add an Error state by default…
I am there -
It is just the carrot 🥕
…
Wait for the stick 🪵 -
Gladly I have a window in the office, an actual window 🪟, so I can see such a view even when my imagination is drained and out of service

@Oktokolo Where I live there’s not a strong presence of mafia, at least as far as I know. But the State takes such a big share of profit of companies that many are forced to close or take debts with banks (if they can).
This basically unrolls the red carpet for mafia because when market shrinks and debts grow and the law doesn’t allow you to start again, guess who is willing to pay your debts…
In exchange for control, loss of trust in the state… -

“Not testable” -> “Free afternoon”

I would go for option A
But I feel like the problem is not VISA, they probably don’t want to make wire transfer as money would be traceable
They probably want to pay cash so they can do black work and use remote to avoid inspections and make people pay for computer and electricity… -
@ars1
Managers only listen to you when you say what they want to hear.
Otherwise they iterate until they get what they they want.
That’s why they want to replace programmers/engineers with condescending AI -
But you have to admit they are at least trying to do some kind of tests.
Other managers would have launched the service saying “let’s try this in production!” -
Every time I went that bit beyond, it was taken as granted and set the new standard for what I was expected to do… 🫤
-
It took me a couple of seconds to understand…
-
Place a job ad and then ask to potential employees what they would do… 😇
-
Use mod or %
-
First add it, then commit it and finally push it
-
And then you look on the internet for a “tutorial” and…
“Wait is that even possible!?!”
It applies to both 😅
