New Slack plugin idea: Encrypt all messages over Slack. However at that point you're better off using Signal for Desktop. 😆
-
Is your boss Michael Scott?
-
You didn't say the magic word.
-
@Torbuntu C-C-C-Combo Breaker!
-
I got an email recently about a "VM Engineer" not knowing how to assign an IP to a virtual machine. Isn't that like, a requirement of being a VM Engineer?!

I interviewed with Conversant, a digital ad company you've probably never heard of before, and I asked how they deal with people using extensions to block ads, tracking, cookies, etc. Specific to the cookies, they've partnered with online retailers to become first-party cookies. So even if you block third-party cookies it's no use.

@MonsieurMan Heck ya! My Audio Technica M-50x's are still going strong! Plus with these kinda cans you can change out the padding for comfy pillows on your ears. Would recommend.
-
India would be my guess.
-
@QueenMorgana I saw your not-rant about you getting your degree, too! Congratulations! Our days are sucking just a little less.
-
Wow, what a wild ride! I didn't connect the dots until the end there. Good one!
-
Ah, the circle of life.

Just grab a cup of coffee every time you need to build. Let us know if you die from caffeine overdose. 😋

Hey man, singular flat files are cool. /s

@unfuckers-inc On retainer. Just like the lawyer! Haha!
-
That's not a hackathon. That's project catch-up. Shame on them.
-
Ah, dad jokes are the best.
Now stop being a quitter and repackage it for his phone. 📱 -
@Artemix Luckily you didn't get hired to jail. Haha.
-
@theuser That worked. Thank you. Haha
-
@theuser Stop it with that. It's giving me anxiety. 😫
-
@No-one I'll second IntellJ.

Someone asked an off topic question in Stack Overflow about security and I answered it directing them to the security exchange. A person commented saying it wasn't an answer and I should have commented instead. I'm so new I don't have comment privileges. I get it though. It has good and bad parts like every community. Don't be discouraged.

Your boss in a lil bit.
-
@T1l3 ahahaha that's very true.
-
@polaroidkidd But the fact that you're learning is important. My co-worker is almost 45 and took a job change to be a Full-Stack Developer. Anything is possible. :)
-
Boilerplate is great! /s

Taleo/BrassRing can die in a dumpster fire. Greenhouse.io is really nice though. 10/10 would apply through them again.
My biggest gripe is the HR post. "Jr. Site Relibality Engineer"
> 5+ years experience
> Full-Stack developer
> Can instantly understand all problems. -
Not necessarily. It's the companies fault for:
1. Giving the new hire production DB access without training them
2. Not having tested backups
3. Not taking responsibility
The problem was waiting to happen and this Jr. DB Engineer was the tipping point. Shit happens, people make mistakes. That's why Disaster Recovery is a thing. So I know they will be fine. They'll just have to live out the Bobby Tables nickname for a while. :P -
@Wack You should be able to change the defaults.
