@GMR516 I actually posted it on the Software Engineering forum of Stack Exchange.
-
I should add: The problem is passed around instead of being solved.
-
/opt: Additional add-on Apps
Apps! APPS! FUCKING APPS! STUPID FUCKING APPS EVERYWHERE! -
I should have added: "... under suppression of the gag reflex."
-
@rEaL-jAsE I'm a Terminus guy, 16pt at least, better 24pt.
-
@rEaL-jAsE Thinking of the junior programmer, who one day will have to handle your ejection?
-
@samm I thought about that, but it's about packaging trivial stuff with different looks.
-
@Hammster I'm not actually developing the project, I need to run it for a test. But fully agree...
-
@FetzenNET Thanks for pointing that out. So they needed something fast and scalable, right? 😁
-
@mzeffect It's a Windows font.
-
@rasm945i Good to hear!
-
@brahn Considering the behaviour of `make clean` in sane Makefiles... 🤔
Sounds true... -
@7400 Block devices go into .gitignore 😀
-
@paedub Fuck, I forgot to mention JS. There you go: "Probably some moron had fun figuring out how to make shitty JS popups."
-
@Charon92 Like: "Is this a fucking WordpressPage or some crap hacked together in PHP by a Windows fanboy? Hell, I'm so glad to be on Linux..."
-
I'm working with quite big Java backend framework ang Angular in my company. I learn a lot of new stuff, but I don't get exicted (at least not in a positive way) about those technologies. Therefore I have a private project to move some everyday browser tasks to the CLI by accessing open REST APIs with small Go programs. I have a command to fetch and display the latest Dilbert comic, one to convert currencies, one to display the current bitcoin price in different currencies, and now I'm working on a client for the Oxford Dictionary API for dictionary lookup and translations. That's the kind of progrmming that keeps me going.

Glad to see that there are people actuslly being happy with their office 😊
-
Dim wit as Fuck
-
@irene You don't like the personal room, but also don't like too crowded offices, right? So offices of 2-3 people would be your choice?
-
@irene How about additional rooms for collaborative work?

I'd actually hire somebody truely proficient in VanillaJS. There are so many frontend developers floating around that are able to hack together some fancy (but bloaty) website, but don't have a basic grasp of the actual programming language they're working in. When I once mentioned the term "closures", a frontend developer replied, he'd rather not use such esoteric features, for they'd just complicate the code. But he had closures all over the place in his code (copy-paste from StackOverflow, I guess), just wasn't aware of the underlying concept.

I remember my 30st birthday. We had an exam that day: Algorithms & Data Structures.
-
@1989 I once wrote an application submission form that bypassed the HR department, sending an email to the respective team leader. One click on "deny" to get rid of the applicant.
-
@magicMirror Only for certain "fancy" classes.
-
@rasm945i Yes, you could also use a bar, there are even bars to attach between your door frame. But rings are far better, because they're not rigid and thus train the muscles more thoroughly.
-
@Nawap 3x5 pull ups every other week.
-
@Nawap Better build up the muscles to support the spine.
-
Do some pull ups on free hanging rings. I manage only to do 5-7 and repeat once or twice. I do that every other week. It totally does the job. Now that I missed a month, I also suffer from back pain.
