Not just in corporate, this thing is all over the place.
Ego always wins, and usually those who know (and want) to get the job done the right way, need to do the whole research, back their argument with data, and chew the whole approach so it is easy to read and follow along.
I hate it also bro..
I guess you are out of a job -
Try the python walrus operator, see how much hate you get then.
-
Copy-paste, Chat GPT.
But my advice is plan your way, 2-3 times a week where you set some time for studying, preferably while making an open source project demonstrating what you learn.
Easy said than done, it's a real struggle, and life gets in the way -
@hjk101 totally make sense
I guess that someone didn't do their homework properly..
Just sucks for me at the end
But I'll get over it -
@hjk101 they bought a shelf product that does exactly that

@iSwimInTheC Infrastructure as code (terraform and CFT) vulnerability scanner

Fuck python
*said no dev ever -
Dude I know what you mean,
Some people don't know how to do basic system design.
And more often than not, these people are in key positions. -
I am the only senior in my team as well now, After some re-org in the company I work for, it turned out that way.
I look at this positively, I have taken this title and lavraged my salary.
Also, I like having a "say" in all sorts of design stuff.
I guess if you see you are overwhelmed by the responsibilities or that everyone comes to you with questions too often,
I would suggest to put your effort on creating some good documentation and pointing people there. -
Same here, relationships always gets the lowest priority in my life.
All relationships except my kids, they are above all else. -
@Cheeseypi @MonkeyParade yes that was my preference but regretfully it's not my choice.. Intellij idea with remote debug needs paid license. And I don't see the management pitching in
-
I may see an Sql injection issue BTW..
-
You're Zuckerberging me?

@Monus I guess that rant posting should be like asking a question in stack overflow, so that I will see that this rant is popular and choose not to post it.
