I did exactly the same thing! Although tbh I don't mind it, however maybe that's because I don't have an orange background (apparently some people can no longer find the shortcut, lol)
-
Doesn't that like leave you open to massive XSS attacks? Ever since the events of '14, I hyper paranoid about things which aren't escaped
-
Adding a 0 in front turns it into an octal. 777 in base 8 is 511. 888 is an invalid base 8 number, therefore the interpreter cuts off the first 0 and keeps it in base 10.

Chunk splitting? Or is that already split??
-
Hover all the way!

@dfox I completely agree, however seems like a large workload to do all by yourself. Would you even consider setting up a team of moderators? And, because we're a group of developers, maybe putting comments through a machine learning algorithm. I'm pretty sure people would be open to labelling comments as good or bad to create a dataset.
-
I had this exact one! Never thought I'd see one again though...
-
@yzhea Blackadder?!
-
Back up. I'm just going to let my heart rate return to normal...
-
But Node isn't just used for web applications. Express, maybe. But I doubt NASA want an inbuilt admin UI in their spacesuit monitoring systems 😁
-
If I see this again... ever... I'll have such revenges on you. What they are, I know not, but they will be the terrors of the Earth.
😁 -
Well I screwed that up pretty successfully.
-
@thejohnhoffer I think it says a lot about Microsoft that someone would believe they'd do that. Or me.
-
@thejohnhoffer any not-mad reason for that?

From Wikipedia:
"Unlike SOAP-based Web services, there is no "official" standard for RESTful Web APIs. This is because REST is an architectural style, while SOAP is a protocol. REST is not a standard in itself, but RESTful implementations make use of standards, such as HTTP, URI, JSON, and XML."
So what your teacher is doing isn't wrong, it's just different (that doesn't mean I agree with them though ☺️).
Also, sending code in PDFs should be a criminal offence. -
A superposition of gits and hubs

Good save GitHub

Forgot to mention kudos on the new UI ☺️
-
Does it come with complimentary dialup modem sounds?
-
It doesn't look like anything to me.
-
I didn't realise it was 2014! I must be from the future! 😁
-
But isn't that the point of it - online you don't know who you can trust.
-
@aaxa I never thought of it that way round before, thanks! ☺️
-
@tahnik that's dedication
-
@tahnik the information is totally useless though ☺️
-
Or compiles the first time with no errors. "Good! Nothing fell off"

Someone should remove a self propagating 'virus' which uses the same code as the botnet malware (they did open source it after all) which cleans all of these devices. You could sweep through large swathes of the internet quite quickly and cause significant damage to the botnets
-
@preyerguilt definitely. Extremely good, and you get something cool to show people. Take a look at his "build flappy bird" series if you don't want to be stuck watching 100+ episodes though! 🙂
-
Have a look at Project Euler. Requires some maths knowledge, but is a good resource for things to build
-
I guess dfox is too good for that
