Stay the fuck out of the UK. Its slowly turning into nazi Germany and the soviet union combined with a nanny state smokescreen.

At least he used /n rather than std::endl.

Yep. Senior simply means you know THEIR system well. Not that you know programming well.

Function pointers are one of the few times I find typedef acceptable.
Unless your type is a nested template at least 3 deep I really cannot understand typedeffing it. Is it really that hard to type a couple more chars? I mean, in comparison to the huge amount of butt pain it causes for literally every single other Dev on the project.
Imo it must also be typed out lots. Who gives a shit if you are using a long ass type as a function parameter? It's not like you are manipulating that type often. -
@hexc Considering auto exists, I can't possibly understand that as a reason to use typedef.
Its not that I have a problem with uses of typedef that make sense. But when it's like 4 layers deep and the actually type is only written a single fucking time in a header file... RIGHT BELOW THE TYPEDEF.... Not lots of times in different classes etc. as you would expect. It really gets to me trying to fish through the layer of shit. -
Never have I seen such a more accurate example than this

@Midnigh-shcode Absolutely not. That is you choosing to allow her to control your life.
There is nothing physically or mentally stopping you from doing anything you want. You simply have to deal with the consequences of your actions. You ALWAYS have a choice. Even in your situation. Even if someone has a gun to your head. Yes, you can choose to die, or to obey, but there is always a choice. You can choose to abandon coding since you gave a burning passion for cooking. Or you could go and live in China. You really can, only you are stopping you. You can do anything. Clear cut steps and goals will help massively. That is some advise that changed my life.
Literally. I'm moving to Japan next year because its been my life dream. But I was always holding myself back from doing it for no reason. Look up Mel Robbins, her talks might help. -
Slap your mum around the fucking face and tell her that you are in control of your life. Not her. Don't take that "alcohol addiction" shit. If you are 29 and can't tell your mum "fuck off, they help me, it's nothing like alcohol which is well known to be poison, this is real medication, I'm not drowning my sorrows in drink like some, I'm trying to fix it"
Then you need to start acting like an adult and take control of your life. Only you make your choices. Every single thing you ever do IS YOUR OWN CHOICE. -
But apple is only for posh twats who need a symbol to raise their self esteem because they do not have a firm understanding of themselves. The same as people who buy audis because "its an audi" and "luxury".
As for windows vs Linux well. Linux is better for development, Windows only advantage is game support. -
@rootshell running a Minecraft server for your buddies is not a professional environment.

Weird. I've been mining ethereum at a profit here in the UK on my own rig (1 290, 1 480, 1 580, 1 Vega 56) for multiple years.
In fact, since I started mining in 2012 (BTC/LTC/FTC mining at the time) I don't think I have ever made a loss. -
Simply refuse to work unless they use github, tell your lecturer about it and that you said they should use github.

Lmfao. How is misfueling a car even a possible relatable experience to what operating system you run... Arch can take an hour to install, or a year, if you want to spend the time and customize it. How does it affect your life exactly? Ignoring stories you don't like isn't hard.
P. S. Most petrol engines will work fine with a diesel/petrol mix of up to about 40/60. And diesels (assuming it was made at some point in the last 25 years outside the US) will be "fine" up to 30/70. So, if they have fuel in already and are just topping up... It might end up working, and you just look like a cunt shouting at someone at the pump.
PS. If you think that is acceptable behaviour in public and do not consider it aggressive, I think you should see a therapist.
