-
@hjk101 i agree.
-
I did on my university.
Quite interesting that I had programming in HS and we used borlan C to write codes for exam while entering university of the same school I had to use paper on my firsf 2 years. -
@3rdWorldPoison can i just start fixing an issue and creating a pr to my target repository?
-
@endor js allows -
I know of vuejs library that allows kebab case. -
14. M
It was visual basic that got me into programming.
I enjoyed making my first lucky 7 program.
Then I moved to c/cpp with my first challenge to make a triangle using * as char.
It was an awesome experience.
Credit to my brothers too to whom inspired me to try out programming -
@C0D4 thanks for the explanation.
-
I got confused about the speed. Max is 2.10 but current speed is different

var user = {
name: “a name”,
id: 1
} -
@tatocaster done talking to him patiently. I told him in a kind way pointers of which he needs to study.
-
Anyway, in my opinion. If you are an experienced engineer, you have to have at least 1 knowledge of top tools and top language.
Joining a company as an experienced engineer, you will probably mentored mainly on the project specs and shit. -
@turturtles we are not using windows for our dev. We are in Linux. I am not familiar with client UI for git in linux, maybe I can provide him some clis.
@theScientist he is. Quite frustratingly slow for an experienced engineer.
@Biggy i would totally be chill if it was a junior dev
@CWins i know. But it is frustrating to know that someone got a job due to fake experience. The team’s productivity has to suffer.
I don’t really care if you have faked your resume just to get the job, because I know google is going to be your friend. -
To all,
I understand all of your concerns.
We got alot of paid interns joining our team and we were impressed with their knowledge. Maybe our team got spoiled with the people we got.
He joined our team not as a fresh grad but as an experienced engineer. He has 8 years of enginering experience.
I know we have to give patience and time for new people regardless of experience to get used to devprocess.
Either I hate the guy that hired him for not properly filtering skillsets. (We are doing dev on a Linux Environment, why would you get a guy who doesn’t have an ounce of experience in Linux). Or the guy for lying in his experience. (How the heck would you pass the interview then?) -
@Krokoklemme heard them. I was heavily used to Java syntax. Just recently upgraded servers to Java 8 where we can now use Function Objects.
But with how I want my
var list = [];
to be re-pointed/assigned to a result, it is not possible.
It’s either you have to empty the list and concat/push the items or something I haven’t explored yet. -
And that’s why should always use transactions. If you mess up, just execute rollback;

@CptFox arigathanks! (⌒▽⌒)
-
True. Came from backend dev.
Currently doing js for front end dynamicability. Poof. Many things are different -
@aitkotw i will. I posted this on a friday night pst zone. Will get back on monday by then hopefully the manager is not hounding my ars3
-
Which is not working? 笑笑
-
When mine arrives, I'll take one too.

Guys thank you very much for your comments.
@Astatos i just read it like after more than half of the day today. I thought my mod had a problem but turns out my firefox version was latest compared to my coworker. Then we traced some spec information from mozilla.
@plusgut just figured it out today too. After reading the firefox specification.
@bbuck we implemented our own back button that saves the information as a draft. For the browser back, it was simplier for to prompt the user if he/she wants to leave the page with unsaved information changes.
Lastly, i just also learned today that ios basically doesnt support onbeforeunload.
Again thank you every. Fairly new in webdev. Trying hard to catch up latest tech info is tough. I was doing softdev before so webdev is a bit of a challenge. -
@penguin but there are times when unexpected issues comes up. You wouldn't be able to anticipate these type of scenarios. Leaving a query by the end of the day, sometimes is ok. But my manager wanted me to stay and wait for the response for who knows how long til they respond.
-
Similar experience. Not git though but svn few years back.
-
I'm not sure if it is still an issue, but i was a freelancer before and indians really love to work for peanuts. I cant fucking beat their rates.
-
Im just staying here because of free meals. Bfast, lunch and dinner
😂 -
@penguin i know right. I finish the tasks for the day and half a day for tomorrow. I want to give myself some leeway for unforeseen problems. But with regards to communicating with other teams, i don't have a fucking clue when they'll respond. So i had to go home or else waste time and resources. Fuck.
-
@oscarascal oh damn. But right now retro consoles are being brought back. Here in japan, not sure for other countries
-
@cako91 i heard about rakuten. They are trying to implement western culture. No overtime for now. For engineers only though.
-
@thesola10 finds and removed from system root nyahaha
-
But they are able to manage and creat a subject and body. Well for me it seem a bit show offy.
