oh you want a code challenge for the interview? sure let me do that just like the 5 other companies i've had to do that for
like dude, look at any one of my multiple websites, saas apps, or mobile apps i've shipped. obviously i know what i'm doing7 -
whatever your stack is, if I cannot just build and run your app in 20 years with the same ease as you're doing it now, your stack is trash.
this is a part of the reason I don't use any tools to build my frontend now and just use simple files.19 -
i miss being intuitive, creative, free of that need for productivity and reason and purpose. i need more of that dionysian energy in my life4

I got a LinkedIn message from the HR from my previous company about a job opening as if I never existed and never met them before. I'm just a profile to them.
Stupidity level: HR11 -
So a friend called me over to his newly opened company. He just started, along with two other partners, so 3 of them on the management structure. It started as a service-oriented company, not single-product based company. Strategically, over the course of 4 years, these two other bosses kicked my friend out. I followed. All the people in the company eventually followed. Now we are about to start selling our services to them for around double the fee. #justice

Today I learnt something, I wish I learnt this earlier (I'm 25 now , it is late?).
What I learnt:
1. Never out -shined your superior, as it naturally stir up all sorts of resentments , envy, insecurities and possibilities of getting you replace by someone level intelligent. Because superior feel threatened.
2. Never try to fake what you don't know, and real to what you know. (As I saw someone faking themselves as someone who they are not, they eventually manifested tonnes of shit to themselves.)
So is what I learnt is actually make sense and valid? or just an opinion?4 -
You know what I hate? Websites that run so much scripted internet-connected shit in the background that you'll either get a fat error message or even a "failed to load site" screen from the browser if you lose the connection for a few seconds.
What's the motherfucking point of a website when its requirements make it effectively a livestreaming service, despite the content being less dynamic than Zuckerberg's face in US congress?
I don't give a shit whether I have internet when I'm fucking reading, you asshats. And you don't need to remind me when my internet connection is disrupted, I think I'll notice that by myself the next time I click on something and your garbage site will take more than the usual 5 seconds to fucking load the background color.9 -
We don’t like MS browsers..
We don’t like Google’s Chrome..
Firefox is shit too now..
The fuck are we supposed to use?!20 -
I did get a raise but we also hired like 5 new people... But I still do the same amount of work... Which was already too much...11

A young guy I work with burst into tears today, I had no idea what happened so I tried to comfort him and ask what was up.
It appears his main client had gone nuts with him because they wanted him to make an internet toolbar (think Ask.com) and he politely informed them toolbars doesn't really exist anymore and it wouldn't work on things like modern browsers or mobile devices.
Being given a polite but honest opinion was obviously something the client wasn't used to and knowing the guy was a young and fairly inexperienced, they started throwing very personal insults and asking him exactly what he knows about things (a lot more than them).
So being the big, bold, handsome senior developer I am, I immediately phoned the client back and told them to either come speak to me face-to-face and apologise to him in person or we'd terminate there contract with immediate effect. They're coming down tomorrow...
So part my rant, part a rant on behalf of a young developer who did nothing wrong and was treated like shit, I think we've all been there.
We'll see how this goes! Who the hell wants a toolbar anyway?!401 -
My Dream Job?
✅ 100% Remote Work.
✅ No dogshit Proprietary Stacks like Adobe Experience Manager.
✅ Reasonable Timelines.
✅ Management defers all technical decisions to you.
✅ Actually Challenging Projects.
These are my Big 54 -
I don't know what y'all think but I like to code with headphones on my ear with the medium-low volume of romantic songs playing8

I don't get it
My brain does not have the capacity to understand it
How the fuck does my colleague manage to write 12 classes/interfaces for something so stupidly simple??
Two classes, a hand full of functions, done.
Why do you need this level of abstraction?
To mock the interfaces in unit tests? The unit tests you didn't write because "they're not necessary"?
No one will be able to understand this clusterfuck of a module even though it's entire purpose is "read number and write number elsewhere"...21 -
This one is interesting
- 9 to 5 (including breaks) aka WLB
- Building products in my area of passion (Music, Art, or Travel)
- High paying (I don't care for those perks like free food or bean bags)
- Enough vacations without judgement
- Continuous innovation (fuck your 1830s product)
- Good social capital (teams should trust me for my decisions)
- WFH where I can opt to go in to office whenever I want (so that I can build my awesome battle rig at home)21 -
What is this I don't even know. Why does it exist? Why?

Dude on remote meeting: -cough- -cough- I don't really feel that bad, I'm pretty sure i'm not contagious. I might come in.
Don't be that guy people (even outside of the COVID timeline...).
Fortunately he didn't come in so no harm no foul.1 -
Working on a RPG game, making the AI, and gameplay. Some cool game with incredible pvp and PvE system, maybe using VR, would be cool go to the office just when need, and work with big friends. 🥰1
