@SoldierOfCode yea that’s how I’m feeling!
-
Imagine someone on a longboard, surfing.. then walking from the shore and ask's you.
"You called for an Uber?" -
Same
-
Congrats! Bring a mug with you and just embrace the firehose of info
-
@EmberQuill I decided to join the PE team, I guess I'll see how it is on the other side
-
@nofckingcluedev dont even start... this was a week long debate on my previous team. Team lead advocated for having all the code in one file. Thanks to vertical monitors It wasn't too bad
-
It still saddens me I didn't get last years.... been slaving in private repos all year
-
What really sucks about these types of meetings is when you're really in a good zone out idgaf moment and then they call your name for input.... fuck! Then you have to say those dreaded words of "I'm sorry could you repeat yourself"
-
Yea in a open office concept, I definitely lean on noise cancellation headphones, but sometimes I just try and find a quiet area.
-
Also maybe you should gift him a book.

@EmberQuill no API to hit
-
@EmberQuill yes, I have seen that side as well, but this was was not the case, it was static as can be to the point most of the team thought using a framework would be over kill. A landing page.

*Opens Docker

@Observable 2018 15in fully upgraded
-
@JKyll 😂 for real! Same here, I’m making a career transition so it made sense for me to go to one, also the connections I made so far have been worth it.
-
I would look into some of the newer stuff that’s coming out. Like react hooks. But to get more in depth I would have to say learn testing in react. Jest and enzyme is what I use. It was a little tricky to learn testing Async funcs and mocking out stuff. After that I would checkout redux and some middleware stuff like thunks or saga

Hopefully you don’t bust your knee on the bars when it falls off that’s the worse!!!
-
I normally rock a case on my laptop, because I like to match my phone case color, then when I’m tired of my stickers or need to sell my laptop I just remove the case
-
My 2 cents...
Research what would be the best tech stack for this project..
Read the Docs
npx install my dependencies..(seriously doesn’t take long)
document throughout the project —> git workflow(rebase or whatever).
Or....
Make friends with a local DevOps and learn from them.. -
@petru exactly if you’re using version control you can simply show the commit history and multiple forms to prove your case. I’ve have been in similar situations before. It’s frustrating but it will happen. Establishing a DTR in the beginning of the project will also help your case and you can always refer back to it when approaching the collaborators. If they still are not keeping their end of what you established in the DTR it shows a clear message to your professor. You simply report to your professor “here is what we agreed upon, here is where we sat down and DTR’d together, here is the commit log. Also using something simple like waffle.io or Trello and assigning parts of the project to someone can help prove your point.

Almost identical to how I write mine.

I spin one while I’m reading. Don’t know why but it’s comforting!

@alphaCoder he was just joking I thought it was funny when he walked away and my initial shock of seeing windows pop up. Decided to share it with you guys/gals.
-
@PerfectAsshole very true, I understand but it was one of those first world problems I’ve always wanted one
