@Nanos Of course we are building towards it. We are doing our best to accelerate it.
Everyday the news informs us of a breakthrough, we are moving one step closer towards it.
As long as all of us try to contribute even in the tiniest way, we are moving closer each year -
@ElCapitan Fully solar powered and automated factories produce almost free goods, the cost would be just the raw materials, if logistics is also powered by Solar energy, the cost of a shirt would come down to the cost of a roll of thread.
Basically its nearing zero charge. At that point, I won't be surprised if no one is really in charge of these companies.
Whatever we need could be delivered in hours or even minutes to our doorstep. With no human involvement all along the process. -
@ElCapitan trying to change governments overnight that have been established over decades will be suicide for any country.
India is basically left with millions of dumb people because all the smart ones leave and start working for mammoths like Google and etc.,
The type of major reform you mentioned will take decades. More than a lifetime of a single human. There's so many issues with the country.
We don't have a choice but to wait for the technological singularity to help us accelerate things. The next age can be a bit promising. -
@htlr buddy the Indian diaspora is spread throughout the world. We are everywhere. 1 in 7 people in the world is Indian
-
@Nanos Robotic limb control via invasive implants in the brain for the paraplegic.
Check out Neuralink, Elon Musk's new start-up which he founded this year around April. It's working on medical applications and then mainstream for everyone -
Already told you, I think you missed that comment, Brain Computer Interfaces
Which country are you from -
@Nanos we're gonna have to wait till we are post scarcity, but estimates suggest that we already have enough world resources for some reasonable distribution among the poorest.
But we still have a long way to go to implement UBI universally.
I'm focused on AI and BCIs -
@daemonAD piece of shit illiterate politicians, this is why I hope AI takes over and does a better job of running the country.
BTW I don't think we are primed for self driving yet, very chaotic roads. A good plan for India would be to export AI solutions as a service.
Wait till we reach post-scarcity and then work on UBI so people don't starve from lack of jobs -
@Oxylibrium I feel you man, I graduated from the same shit. Every one of our colleges is the same. I doubt only the IITs are logical, and ppl who study there are not human, just crammers and most of them who nod their heads and suck up to society's rules.
Outcasts like us have to battle through this shit. I used to put out all the programs on a open lan so all my classmates can copy. Our class built a reputation even though most of my classmates couldn't code a line.
Try to get into AI, India can't afford to miss the AI revolution like it missed the industrial one because of the stupid British, (everything's cool with their descendants, no prob)
Cheers, fight through it. -
@Nanos Hmm, we do have governments that take care of this, micromanaging to this level is neither feasible nor possible, if you ask me.
There might be people already who have made it their life missions to solve problems like these, a particular one at that.
For example, there's an entire body dedicated to climate change, continously brainstorming ways to filter out the carbon cycle.
So unless, something is really serious we can all focus on what we want to work on to help our progress once we have a UBI society -
These are just hiccups along the way, on the long term looking at issues like these aren't significant.
We either get to the singularity or we nuke ourselves or in any other similar way. Right now existential crises though possible are somewhat under control -
@Nanos Brain Computer Interface
-
Yes we do need to work towards it, but we do have a lot of company, even if it's less relatively.
One major drawback is we won't have enough time in a lifetime to master everything to build our way to Transhumanism.
So we might want to focus on constructing a BCI first, that's the holy grail to rapid progress. Neuralink and other companies are estimating a working prototype in eight years -
@Nanos Well the Transhumans will be watching over the planet right, making sure everything stays in order.
We might be faced with a question of killing them or trying to cooperate with them, by shifting them to another planet like Mars or any other exoplanet -
@Nanos No no, the non biological Transhumans will make sure that the World Heritage is preserved, even making adjustments to Earth orbit millions of years.
The rise of Homo Sapiens was either because we were the superior species and being obsessed with race we eliminated the rest like black discrimination.
Or we interbred with them leaving us with a best of all their traits. -
The humans would be too busy immersed in their VR worlds even if the apes took over lol
-
@Nanos It's pretty much a given at this point that our species will split.
The ones who's only worry is about their filters and emojis will lead the crowd.
Animal like humans crawl the earth preserving the biological human body.
While the rest transfer their consciousness into biological bodies and set our mapping exoplanets and xenobiology as first explorers.
We would also maintain a World Heritage and keep an eye on the humans in the VR world so that things don't get out of hand -
@Nanos The future is and always was better, would you rather be born in 1770 or 2017
-
@Nanos We are already halfway into solving the problem of crowding together, a majority of IT jobs are remote today. This trend will saturate when there are only information jobs left after automation like there are no one on the farms these days
-
Yes you're right on a lot of the points. Energy won't be a issue when we start on a Dyson Sphere.
We would definitely have a cap on raw materials for each individual, we don't want people to start building mansions the size of sky scrapers for their selfish needs.
With your limited resource allocation, you should be able to convert any coastal land suitable for you. Still the VR is a better option, since you'd even be able to even customize the creatures you want in your ocean, from sea dragons to mermaids. And not to mention we'll soon be able to fool all senses, neuro signals coming into the brain instead of just presenting an illusion like present day VR
Better yet we can modify human attributes and remove traits like greed and negative emotions once we completely reverse engineer the brain. -
@Nanos so once we have nano replicators, you can basically create anything you want. If you insist on a coast side property, VR will be so immersive that you won't be able to differentiate it from the real world.
If you really insist on the real deal, a lot of property owners wouldn't bother giving it to you, it wouldn't hold any great value to them relatively. Still there is so much unoccupied coastal land all around the world, especially if you ever drove on coastal Highways, you'd be able to see how much land is empty.
Humans tend to crowd together tightly in small areas (cities) since that's where all the action is.
Once we are completely interconnected we won't need to commute anywhere. We can carry out everything from a single place in the globe

@Nanos lol not sure if you're joking or serious...
Here's something for you:
https://gomovies.cloud/film/... -
@Nanos haha, money's not gonna exist in a post scarcity society. We would need to worry about the people who refuse to adopt tech. We might modify humans to make knowledge the main pursuit instead of raising a family.
But I'm pretty sure that'll be met with a lot of resistance, crying blasphemy and all that stuff. -
@theNox Just some idle introspection. If you need more info ping me, if you'd like to know more about the Technological Singularity, you can check out Ray Kurzweil's works. He's the leading modern day evangelist after Verne

More like 150
-
Well, this is just the idiocy of our prehistoric education system
-
@Haxk20 only the smaller ones cause spaghetification, the ones that have the mass of a few suns.
The more massive ones like the one in the center of our galaxy which have the mass of a few million suns, going inside them we'll be absolutely alright and can actually explore what could be inside.
Theoretically if we can transfer our consciousness into an inorganic body by uploading, we can go out there and be the first explorers -
@Haxk20 haha yea I was like this
-
@Haxk20 dude alteast check out the summary of the book
-
@Aitkotw isn't it obvious from the book and author. Recommend reading it, he has a very strong point based on the laws of physics and technology's exponential growth we see today
