About two weeks ago, at my workplace, I learnt about Django deployment in Nginx server with Docker and Kubernetes on Google Cloud Console.1

Friday 6pm to Sunday 6pm, with toilet breaks, snack breaks and a three hour nap on Sunday morning. Roughly 44 hours. It was a hackathon, Nov 2016. My team came in fourth place and the first three teams went to Germany!
Well, I got a well paying attachment from it so it didn't go all to waste.
Me and my laptop then... -
So there is this place I have been interning for a while. It's a health related project funded by an international organisation.
The first part was last year, June to Dec which was ok. The problem started this year, Feb to July. Despite signing a contract, I (along with other interns) have not received our pay which was supposed to be monthly.
It's unprofessional and frustrating. Moreso, some of my bosses are my lecturers. So guys, ask before you trust. -
"Instead of writing classes in Python, create packages and use functions. Each function should do exactly one thing without being specific to the program you are developing." - Steve Waweru

I remember the first time I was experimenting with Linux and decided to install Kali Linux (was still version 1 at the time) and in the process cleaned my hard drive. I was in first year and I hadn't been introduced to git, so you can imagine what happened to my code.
Or when I dumped all my databases into one SQL file (the feature looked tasty in phpmyadmin) and then after reinstalling everything, I couldn't import back the files.
Or last year, where I was on industrial attachment. So we were to delete some data from DHIS2 manually. So as a developer I grouped all organisation units to be deleted under one parent and wrote a python script to recursively delete anything in that group. Just when I was about to show my supervisor how efficiently my script was deleting stuff, he said, "Don't delete anything yet". I hope he doesn't read this *wink*
Fast forward, last week on Friday I dropped my external hard drive. It just works on one USB port now, no idea how and why. -
I kind of feel like I type faster when I use Windows than Linux.
Don't know whether it is because I type code on Linux and !code on Windows1 -

I don't need access to all models from the client

Let me start a new app and import models from the existing app

I am a programmer, I have no life. -
Almost three years ago when I was starting web development,a friend of mine asked me to create a website for him.
You know those single page portfolio with a blog. I said Ok.
After a week I hosted the website and the dude didn't pay up the remaining amount. After following up for a while I just commented out the links to load all css files and declined his calls till he paid up.
He called and said he suspected a hack, to which I replied yes. He had to pay up the remaining amount + more to prevent 'other future hacks'.
The website is no longer active (koome.co.ke) but since then my interactions with clients has changed.3 -
Yesterday I was a bad dad and couldn't wait for my box to shut down completely before I forced it and this morning it threw a little tantrum2
