And now the bloody client that can't pay me is asking me to remove the search feature I spent days implementing as she'd asked me to not a week ago. She doesn't seem to realise I develop for money, I don't develop for good will and positive vibes.8

Every dev job I see:
You need a billion years of experience, and must be able to fistfight Sauron11 -
Developers in need 2016 appeal.
With just one recommendation of an IDE with syntax highlighting, you can change the life of a needy developer.
Together we can bring an end to semicolon hunting.
Let's stop the madness now.6 -
3 off the most dreadful things to do as a developer
1) Documentation
2) Testing (Multiple device/browser)
3) Wearing formal clothes7 -
Map/filter/reduce in a tweet:

My (optimistic) brain at 11:30pm right before bed: "You should totally wake up extra early tomorrow to FINALLY finish that last 5% of your side project that has taken you 10x longer to do than the first 95%!"
My (sleepy) brain at 7:00am: *Hits snooze.* "Eh, there's always tomorrow!"2 -
I thought the ReadMe file on git was for how to use someone's source code. why I find most of them empty!! 👊 😉 others jst have -----###2

Have you ever been at that desperate point where you start naming your variable and functions into something like "pleaseWork"4

I always grew up with the "programmers are wizards" idea in mind. Of course, I understood it was just a joke. But on my first day in university I went to my first CS class... And my professor looked exactly like a wizard.2

@dfox when deleting a post I am able to report it. I didn't want to try because I learned my lesson about bug testing in production, but thought I'd let you know and if it's fine I'll play with it :D

650 line hand constructed xml file missing a tag. Took me 3 hours to find. I looked at the section at least 3 times but my brain would not pick out the mistake. Online cal validators all pointing me to the wrong places.
It takes persistence to be a developer so pat yourselves on the back.5 -
If your a developer please learn to program. There is no reason that this should ever be a package https://npmjs.com/package/year-now/1

My dissertation at university was to analyse chat logs of pedophiles in the hope that the application of a density metric could flag up both explicit chats between parties (which it did very well) and more importantly flag up potential on going grooming (it was a bit hit or miss) I love telling people about this because it freaks them out2

Only think I like more than coding is roller derby. Live streaming a game while I work on my own derby scoreboard.4

When someone makes fun of UI development, and you challenge him to vertically center align a div. Challenge accepted and lost :D9
