@h4xx3r Sorry, didn’t see your reply :) no he isn’t, he’s simply an architect but he indirectly has power over us (the devs) because he has friends in high places within the company. On top of that he’s an absolute cunt and a terrible developer, architect and (micro-)”manager”
-
This triggers me on another level because I went to something similar less than 2 months ago
-
@rootAccess If you work 2 hours extra you can’t take it back the next day for example?
-
@vlatkozelka In the end, considering a language “readable” is very opinionated. e.g. i think Python is very unreadable but many, many people disagree with me. Same with Go, i think it’s very readable like many people do but some colleagues strongly disagree with me on that. In the end, i think it’s personal preference :)
-
note: It goes way deeper than that but i dont think I can fit all that in 1000 characters. Basically everyone’s a cunt except the developers, some of the architects and my actual boss. The guy who acts like a manager l basically has 0 power but he’s in a clique with people way above him (within the company I currently have a project at) but also at my employer’s so i can’t go against him bc i’ll get pounded either way :)
-
@asgs feels like I lose best friends every 6-12 months (im a consultant) 😩
-
Went through the same process as you, now I’m doing it again but with Openshift instead 🤯
-
This is the kinda bug where if u quickly do the exact same stuff in a fresh project it’ll work but not in the original 🙄
-
Nope, my company’s name starts with a T 😇
-
Update: Now production is down because the phonelines aren’t working 🤯
-
I personally love it when people use emojis in business emails, it means i dont have to write formal emails and saves me time 😬
-
@ScaryException If you open the network tab on soundcloud and play a song you can actually get the URL of the whole file (not sure if this has been changed but it worked a year or so ago) :)
-
But to be fair the whole codebase is spaghetti code so he’ll probably go after the others first 🤞
-
@BurnoutDV (very) outdated tech, least challenging job i can imagine as a dev, poor pay, boss never listens to any of my ideas, ... the list goes on, so in the end i dont actually think i made a bad choice.
-
Never had trouble on my laptop but my desktop does tend to give me some trouble on wifi 🤔
-
I’d be lying if i said that i’ve never done this
-
Didn’t actually turn in the letter yet, i still will as the raise is only about €150 and my new salary is going to be around €1300 more lol
This was just my initial reaction -
The dog has that “hooman plis send halp”-look
-
@phreakyphoenix Had to get it done by tomorrow (which is why im so tired) so I just wanted to get it working, refactoring it tomorrow after we pushed to production ..
-
Alright everyone stop judging, i’m sleep deprived and running on just coffee rn, i literally don’t even remember what i had for dinner (2h ago) i did actually write the code myself without smacking stackoverflow answers together 😁
-
I’m not a big fan of it either :L
-
Happy birthday! It all goes downhill from here, you’re gonna love it 😎
-
@beegC0de Normally im getting a raise in january but it’s nowhere near the amount of money this new job will get me. Also, the project is very boring compared to what I will be working on soon
@gintko no worries, already taken care of and I will finish the project we’re working on now which is due the end of december :) -
@rutee07 @shelladdicted I prefer tabs and braces on new lines so that’s all good
@Nanos you never know, she might just be the one ;) -
Damn and i spent €2000 on a PC that can emulate breath of the wild
-
@growling Basically like you test anything, test the logic, see if setting properties on the component does what it should do etc.. :)
-
@Kekica I convinced him to let us write the app in typescript and now that we’re half way he wants to write it back to es5 so i dont think there’s much chance of me changing his mind a second time
-
UPDATE: only took me 2 hours to get it working on ubuntu
-
@electrineer 5 hours but with a lot of screaming and crying
-
@Kekica No we can not :)
