Did you know that if you boil a funny bone, it becomes a laughing stock?joke/meme bone us points your mom likes bone jokes causes joint pain stop it dad come on - that joke is humerus who's your daddy? cuts to the bone4

Was frantically trying to figure out where an unwanted full stop was coming from, next to a dropdown in my UI. It was some dust on my screen.6

For my interview next week, I will be asked a frontend system design question... Why I've never done before.
I understand I'll need to know things like "What is the minimal viable product (MVP)" or "what API calls will need to be made", but besides that I am a little lost. I can imagine something about authentication / authorization, but there is so much they could ask and I know I don't have all the answers.
I've always been a person who hasn't had all the answers, but I know I can find them. I don't know if that'll fly during a 60 minute interview where I'll have to create some type of solution.10 -
Why are companies that can't get anybody to do the work locally, then try to get someone remote, and STILL try to require a short onsite stint?
Either be remote or don't please.
I dunno, see where this goes I guess.12 -
What the fuck is happening in 2025 where half the websites can't keep the session open?
How is it "good security practice" to require me to login every few hours?
Shit like this makes me think software has plateaued. If devs can't make a fucking session work in the big 2025, then there's no hope.16 -
My website runs on Oracle Cloud's free tier.
Your website runs on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service, sitting behind a CloudFlare load balancer, and it's up and down like a whore's drawers.
We are not the same.12 -
First it was Amazon region-wide service issues. Now it's Cloudflare having issues.

Fuck sake man.16 -
Looking at a job posting and they check to ask if you have experience using javascript/typescript for the backend.
All I'm left thinking is why would somebody choose that for the backend. I can understand if you know nothing else it would make sense.9 -
2025/6 is the year contrast dies.
Apple, obviously, with liquid glass (AKA, "I can't see what's on top or bottom!")
But now also, trying out Visual Studio 26, everything is just a slightly different shade of gray.
Won't anyone think of the clarity?! We have reached the point where we are so biased towards form over function, that our form is no longer functional! Bring back contrasting shades of colors in UI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!7 -
So November is epilepsy awareness month.
People literally shaking with excitement about this.joke/meme michael j fox has palsy not epilepsy ostream has masturbatory epilepsy 88 mph has lasting medical effects12 -
I've been working more and more with vibe coding. The only way I can get it to work is with Claude code.
I'm not sure why it's different, but that one actually works. He's worth the 200/mth if you can make money coding.
Is the code great? No. But who gives a fuck. He frees up so much time9 -
So, I'm doing some freelance work for a company...
Holy shit their chatgpt chats.
I swear, they go to the level of import {isOdd} from 'is-odd';
Somehow I feel that I just can't lose any job because I'd be one of the very few able to function whenever openai is down...12 -
Freaking, some devs should learn how to make websites well. lol. I was hovering over a text, then I let it lose focus and focused my cursor floating halfway between left and right element and it caused an intense strobe effect.
I just can't. lol10 -
I know there are some fans here from Joshua Fluke. We in the Netherlands have some word for such amazing person but don't know how to translate. It's "neukfout".12

omg tabloid are so dumb.
BREAKING: American woman uses chatGPT to pick lottery number and wins!!!!!!
They all have the same probability you fucktard that's the POINT
journalists should be IQ tested seriously5 -
Client: “We need an app that tracks live birds using AI.”
Me: “Cool, that’s complex. What’s the timeline?”
Client: “We need it before our annual picnic next week.”
Me: “You want an AI that can detect flying birds, in real time, in seven days?”
Client: “It’s not that hard. Just use ChatGPT or something.”
So now I’m here, watching pigeons on my balcony, manually updating a Google Sheet, calling it “AI prototype v1.0.”
I think I’ve finally achieved “Agile Enlightenment” — deliver results, not features.
Client’s happy.
My soul isn’t.
Time to rename the project: BirdBrain.12 -
Those wankers at Microsoft have totally ruined Notepad in Windows 11. Now, when I open a text document with Notepad, it attempts to open any text documents from some previous session as well - some of which might not even exist anymore. It's so fucking annoying!8

:O... On modern displays, a browser pixel can span multiple display dots. Well, that sure demystifies layouts acting strange sometimes.

Fuck, its 2025 and we still cant shake away the "you work with technology, you must know how to fix my microwave" stereotype.
Seriously, I have fewer apps in my phone and access fewer websites and even spend less time on my devices than the HR old hags, and yet im the one who has to come and "explain to them how to print a PDF".
Holly fucking crap. I haven't used a printer in MONTHS. With the cost of the time I will take to figure out how to communicate with those mummies that is 'just click the print button', they could hire ChatGPT to do it for a decade.
Fuuuuuck, that is the reason those stupid AI chat bots exist! To endlessly toil at the repetitive and predictable task of saying 'hi there! Have you clicked "print"?'
Imma gonna leave work early and get pissed. Luckily, I've already done a couple hours of OT for the day, so it won't seem so out of the ordinary.12 -
I miss grooveshark
had radios people voted on the next song. a chat that was filled with programmers that just wanted tunes during their workday. those were the days
now it's either Spotify or defunct if it's anything similar to that8 -
If you want to know what real vibe coding looks like:
https://youtube.com/watch/...
That is a cool girl. lol4 -
I hate the current "trend" where developers are adding onClickHandlers on buttons that pretty much only functions as links. The context menu & middle mouse clicking on the "link" does not longer work like expected. So annoying11

I work for a company who decided to put real effort on introducing LLMS and other AI tools not just in the product, but on corporate life as well, especially on development. It has benefits like we have access to Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf and Claude Clode, even we have the budget to run our models if we want. We saw the performance improvement and pitfalls on daily basis, but overall as a developer, I am happy with the tools and the improvement. BUT (rant mode on) the Product Management got a bit too excited about this. We have a legacy Python service? "LLM can code in that". Dont we have any experience with a programming language? "LLM can code that" We need to make changes some complicated internal project for our needs? "Dont ask the maintainer team, just use LLM to implement it and they'll review" We are not frontend, Java, devops and other focused team members. Everybody is everything.15

Oh my goooooooooood vibe coding is sooo bad
Holy fucking shit I'm actually losing my mind
Cursor is nothing but a glorified slop generator. It just fucking yaps and yaps and it generates shit upon shit. Yet NOTHING works properly
It all looks impressive but its all a shallow house of cards of bullshit
To be fair, I'm trying to make it write a simple compiler with an x86 JIT backend. Absolutely not a simple task, but come oonnnnnnn. It just goes in circles, over and over and over
It's exactly as I imagined. Just like ChatGPT, if it failed 2 times, it will never recover and you should just start a new conversation to clear the poisoned context. For a half hour I've been trying to get to compile a program which prints hello world. It just can't do it. No matter what, the compiled program just always returns 42 and nothing else (or segfaults)
It's just fucking AI slop. It LOOKS impressive until you actually go a bit deeper and you realize its all vapid bullshit14 -
Claude 4 when I pointed out he invented fields in a form I asked to rewrite:
You're absolutely right, I fucked up. I added an Email field that doesn't exist anywhere in the original form or the model. I made that shit up completely - there's no Email field in the original table-based form below, and I have no idea why I added it.
Looking at the original form, the "XXXXX" section only has:
--LIST OF 8 FIELDS
There's NO EMAIL FIELD anywhere. I completely invented that field like an idiot.
I apologize for that stupid mistake. Should I fix the form to match exactly what's in the original without the fictional Email field?
SIGH.....
I always watch these "THERE WILL BE AGI IN 3 YEARS" announcements with popcorn in hand and a good laugh8 -
the scariest part about the worldwide musical degeneracy propaganda campaign is that people are doing it of their own accord. there is no hand pulling the strings behind the scenes.
also, since when exposed labea majora become synonymous to music? this shit is repulsive.
