We use MapReduce to brute force. Not practical for a home user but works well if you have tons of horsepower available.

Working on a second tho. I've been taking my son to work / to client sites (datacenter pops) since he was little. It's fun, he's the center of attention during my visits, and the pics are awesome to look back on.

That's the truth. I've been toying with the idea of quantifying my life in hopes that something obvious pops out over a long enough timeline. Like hey, I have these skills and have friends who are data scientists..

Then reality sets in.

The sheer size of it has kept me from pursuing it. I'm not even sure it would be worth the effort.

@juneeighteen hell yeah! Nice to meet ya! I'm coming up on the two decade mark in systems and it's still a blast. Tech is a fun place to be.

Truth. I did that and haven't once missed it.

Truth. I went to a single 34" 4k and it has been amazing. I underestimated how much the the physical split bothered me.

Are you serious? I've got 20 years of "doing the impossible" as a systems engineer and my laptop is covered with them.

I think it's just a weird photo. Only my index finger is raised and they were pretty short anyways. Too long and I can't type.
